SOURCE: Two Green Lights Flash Mid Cycle.

It's possible that there's a fault in the drying heater coil, but I couldn't tell you for sure without looking up your machine. If you could locate the model number tag on your machine and write down the exact model number and serial number, then I could likely give you a more informative answer. ;)

Wont clean dishes

The little holes in the spary arms can block with general gunge etc. We use toothpicks, skewers to clear them. That sometimes helps.

Thank God for smart people and information on the internet!!! We just moved into...

The blinking "clean light" is a common problem with some of the Kenmore and Whirlpool models dishwashers. The problem is usually attributed to water supply temperatures being too low when filling. Apparently, there are some issues with the temperature sensing circuits in some dishwashers that causes an error code to be generated if a certain water temperature is not achieved in a specified time interval (this time may differ between models). There is a reset sequence that you can try to clear the fault. Push the NORMAL WASH then HEATED DRY buttons in that sequence two to three times. The unit will enter diagnostics mode, but can be stopped by pressing the CANCEL button. This will clear any existing faults and should return the dishwasher to normal operation.

To keep the fault from returning, it is recommended that you run your hot water faucet in the kitchen until it runs hot BEFORE you start the dishwasher. This will heat the water in the supply line for the dishwasher (most dishwashers are fed from the kitchen sink supply line). The theory is that if you fill the dishwasher with hot water from the start of the wash cycle instead of the cool water that is normally in the lines (especially if you have a hot water tank located far away from the kitchen), this should satisfy the requirements of the temperature sensing circuits. If the fault reappears, there should be a tech sheet located inside the lower panel under the door that explains what the fault is. The flashing light will be a series of flashes, followed by a pause. If you indeed have a component problem, it will depend on the number of flashing lights in the sequence. Refer to the tech sheet to determine WHAT component is affected and how to troubleshoot.

Check if you have at least 120 degree water temperature coming into the dishwasher. Check if the upper rack spray arm is turning during cycle. Does dishwasher sound normal, like you can hear strong water spray inside it?

I am having issues with my dishwasher where it appears to be working but does not clean. Hot water does enter the unit and drains properly but is not cleaning. Muck is still on the door, the arms are wet....

No you need not wash the dishes but just cleaning of the debris and then putting it in the dishwasher for proper cleaning will help you to prevent the drain from getting blocked.

First perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest setting possible and perform a wash cycle. Then start using a dishwasher most probably that would solve the problem. If this does not solve the problem then there must be some parts worn out or faulty creating the problem.

There are many probable causes of failure .

To clean the dishes the water temperature is essential. It the water is not hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly. So check the water temperature.

Also check the filter in your dishwasher.Clean the filter if there is accumulation of debris in the filter.

Spots are left on the dishes after washing. Dishes don't look clean

Hi

If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound.

If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete. Try cleaning the spray arm with a soft brush. The water temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes. Hope this helps...

I have a Whirlpool GU2600XTPS7 dishwasher - long washing time

You could have a couple things going on here. It could be either related to water temperature, build up in the sensor area or poor washing.

If the dishes are coming clean then you can discount the poor washing.

1st thing to try is clean out the dishwasher, a build up or residue can form on the sensors in the bottom and they can be fooled into thinking the water is cloudier or cooler than normal and it would take longer to heat the water and wash. Here is a link to some instructions I put together on how to clean it out.

Clean Out Procedures

2nd thing to try would be to run the hot water in the kitchen sink until it is hot before you start the dishwasher. By doing this the dishwasher will not have to slow down and pause while it is heating the water enough to clean the dishes

The dishes don't come out clean after complete cycle or even after I re did the wash.

Has it always been okay in the past? Do you have the manual, and if so, are you loading it properly. I am not familiar with this particular machine, however there are a few things you can check. Make certain all the spray arms are spinning freely. If there is a "tower" that comes up from the bottom, be certain nothing is blocking the center portion of the bottom rack. Run a load as normal, but stop it after a few minutes. Is there water in the tub and are the dishes wet? If not, determine if the water source is on, and the "fill" solenoid is working. If there is water, and all dishes appear to be getting wet, be certain you are getting a lot of "water action" during the wash. If you listen closely, you should hear a sloshing sound as the machine runs. If not, your not getting enough water circulating. The pump may be clogged, or perhaps there is not enough water coming in. Is your water pressure high enough to fill it completely? I hope I have given you enough things to check in order to lead you to the problem. Let me know.

Mold growing on dishes

Recommend that you run another cycle with no DW soap aded, waiting until the dishwasher has filled with hot water and begins to do the first wash cycle. Then add 1/2 cup of bleach to the water and close the door. Allow the cycle to finish. Run it normally with a standard load of dirty dishes. Note: These high efficiency dishwashers count on the "dirt" of the dirty dishes to help wash/clean the dishes. Recommend you not rinse/wash the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher.

Watch for any occurrence of the black dots and repeat the bleach treatment.
