How do you install a ink cartrich in brother p-touch 1180 labler

Change cartridge and clean ink pathway

Try a different tape. Usually, when the ink and label get screwed up it's time to trash it and start over, but you might just inspect the cartridge to make sure they are joining properly. If another tape works, there's your answer. If not, well 1180's aren't very expensive and our Brother store (Staples) has a sale on them every other week. Another heads up. If you have a Meijer's store nearby, they are stupid. They're selling black on white 12mm TZ tapes for $9.99. Go and buy them all :-)

I believe that this is a therm printer. Which means that the paper does the work it is heat sensitive and the keys warm to print. I'm not entirly sure about this but a quick way to tell is if the paper/tape is glossy on one side and flat finish on the other.You can obtain the owners manual by going to the Brother site and looking under support for downloads. It should be there after you've entered your model #. Thanks,Dana

You need to take a q-tip dipped in alcohol and clean the printhead. Let me know if this helps.
