SOURCE: Acer Travelmate 8210 touchpad problem

My 8210 has given me endless trouble and I just cut my finger trying to open it up!

In addition to the touchpad problem, mine has a serious issue with overheating and a strange problem where the screen flashes black intermittently for no apparent reason.

SOURCE: Mighty Mouse won't scroll down

I have had the same problem on occasion.  I found that if I turn the mouse over and tickle it...  It works!  Only kidding...
Turn the mouse over, push down hard so the ball is depressed, and move it vigorously in all directions.  That usually dislodges whatever is trapped inside.

SOURCE: The ball won't scroll down

Have you removed the ball at any time? If it is put back in wrong, it could cause this. If not, the ball assembly itself might be bad. You can find them fairly cheap on eBay.

SOURCE: My scroll ball won't allow me to scroll DOWN; I

pop the silver ring off from around the ball and remove the ball assembly. Be careful cause the ring only has connections on three sides and you must start on the side without the "pins". just keep messing with it and it will come out. then clean the rollers up and make sure the flap connector on the bottom is clean and intact. That should do ya for now and should hold you for several weeks
