My plasma tv model TH-p58v10M got 7 red light blinks, at first i disconnected the sc board, then i got 8 blinks, so i disconnected also the ss board got 6 blinks, thought it was weird, connected back the sc board and now only the ss board is disconnected, and now the tv is staying on without blinking just blank screen. can i assume it's the ss board is whos bad?
SOURCE: Power light blinking 2 times
2 blinks means the unit is having problem with 12 volt supply.
while power on you can check 12DC on power supply before shutdown.if the voltage is constant before shut down I would recommend to replace D board.

The six blinks indicates that an internal fan is either bad ot blocked by dust or debris, You should be able to look in the back of the unit and see some cooling fans. Chances are one on them is not turning and will need to be replaced

hello you have what you call a "shut down circut" it is for safety and when one of the internal boards gets shorted or is not working properly, service doc reads as follows
7 Blinks SOS: Pin 93 of the MPU IC9003 monitors the status of the SC, SU, SD board. During normal operation, the photo-coupler PC6480 outputs a low to pin 93. If the SC, SU, or SD board becomes defective, a high is provided to pin 93. As a result, the unit shuts down and the power LED blinks 7 times
thiera blinking 7 times is cuase by a fualt in sc,su,sd boards

I have seen a fault where the Plasma display was giving sparkling green dots, and then the set would shut down after about 10 minutes. After waiting for about 40 minutes, I would re-start and the process would work the same, and then the set would shut down.
I tried freezing the boards one by one with freeze-spray, and heating with a heat gun to see where the thermo fault could be. I had no success.
Fortunately I had access to a scrapper set of the exact same model. After spending many hours with the process if elimination, I worked the fault down to be the screen itself! Unfortunately, with the scrapper set that I had its screen was very weak. Swapping the screens between the two sets proved that the original screen has failed.
I don't want to discourage you. You may be down to the point of what I reached!

Panasonic sent a repairman out with the correct part after telling them about the seven blinks. The unit was out of warranty. They rock. Call 800-211-7262 or 800-524-1448 1
