I would start with the ignition switch itself first if you know the battery is good. Second start checking fuses to see if any are blown. www.nnyparts.com
It is probably a fluke unrelated to the reverse disengaging{the fact that it burnt off a cable}.If it has the original reverser still in place, the one that kicks it's self out and not the one that beeps at you, then it may need to be replaced. They usually didn'nt even make it all the way to the end of warranty before replacement was needed which is why they are now obsolete.I would start there, let me know how you make out.Note;if it just clicks when trying to start the tractor on occasion then replacing the starter relay on the right side of the engine may also fix your reverser problem ,rare, but it does happen.
I have never seen a 1050 with a cab other than homemade ones but if anyone makes one it would be Lauren Cabs.Try googling them for a dealer near you that you can call,it's worth a shot.
You likely have a tail light in the rear that has a filiment dropped to ground allowing the relays for the lights to stay on there by by- passing the switch.Remove both rear tail light bulbs and start the tractor, all should be normal,if so ,then you just need to put in new bulbs. If this does'nt work then you need to check you light relays, one of them has failed. The operaters can tell you where to find the and which one runs what.Good luck
