Hi, do you have happen to have a garbage disposal? These are linked together and cause this type of odor. You might also need to change the filter if it is getting old. Running white vinegar through the dishwasher may be another option if the cleaner your using isn't working for very long. Good luck!

Your dishwasher probably has rotating blades on the top and bottom that spray water on the dishes. Clean these off and make sure the holes are not clogged.

Did you get your Whirlpool dishwasher working. Mine quit cleaning so I took the lower spinner out, pulled the motor and pump assembly (very easy to do) then cleaned out the strainer which was full of glass and debris not allowing the water to recirculate. Works like new now. Cost....$0.00. Clean dishes...priceless.

www.dishwasherfilter.com has a great new product out that filters the water going into your dishwasher. it reduces minerals that cause that white build up or residue. it goes under the sink and doesnt take up much room at all. my dishes looked terrible until i put this filter in. it is very affordable and works great.

You've done the basics, so we'll treat it as a fault due to wear.
When running, do you hear the spray arms rotating - about twice a second?
If the water is actually reaching the dishes, bur the arms are not rotating, you may need replacement spray arms.
If the water is not even reaching the dishes with any force, The circulation pump may be faulty and needs replacement.
