Your machine is very short of power required for win 10, I would like to see at least 8 GB ram, and a faster processor, yours is at the bottom of tests. Perhaps you should look at a new machine with win 10 installed. You cannot upgrade xp to win 10. You will have to purchase a win 10 license, you missed the free upgrade period.

SOURCE: Lacie Silverscreen 80Gb Drive not recognised by My Dual Processor PC

Sorry for the late reply, but it may help someone else with the same problem.

Are you using a USB2 port, perhaps it's may not be getting enough power. In the orginal Lacie box was a double USB dongle - it allows you to take the power from two USB ports and send them to the Silverscreen, if the SScreen was getting quite enough power.

Or buy a double USB power cable (like: http://www.n-c.fr/webshopncrevendeurs/catalog/images/Double_Cable_USB.jpg)

Otherwise remove the 2.5" disk (remove two screws, & gently pull out) and use a caddy to check the HD disk is still working.

SOURCE: HOW CAN I UPGRADE MY SYSTEM

it depends on how big the ram and the hd is. the bigger the hd and ram the more expensive it is except for their transfer rates. if your planning on upgrading because of games, you will need atleast 7200 rpm for the hardisk which costs more than a typical one. but for all i know thats the default for a desktop. there are 10,000 rpm also which are more expensive than the bigger hd's. same with the RAM. you can check ebay for the price. but the price depends on the country you are in if your buying it from your place.

SOURCE: Can I play Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 on this computer?

I am going to say yes. I have basicaly the same as you. The game will lag a bit unless you trun down the settings (Visual) to low. You wont notice the difference in how it looks, but the game will play better. the game is worthe it.. I love it.

If you get it going look me up on the game Pincushion_LTC..

I would like to improve the speed of my PC. Currently running Soyo KT333 dragon Ultra plus; AMD Athlon 2400+ 2.0GHz; 1.5 GB RAM. What can I upgrade to these days?

Hi.

The motherboard has an athlon xp socket, so you can upgrade your processor to an Athlon xp 2800+, that will give you a boost from 2.0 ghz to 2.250 ghz.

The motherboard can accept ddr333 type ram, to a max of 3 gb's of ram.

The ram increase will probably provide you with a better performance boost than the processor will, and it is most likely alot cheaper as well.

I hope this helps you out, and have a good day.

With what to replace this 512MB ddr333 number hyb25d256800bt-6. My computer has an amd Athlon tm xp 2000+ and 1.67 ghz

Hi,

We would need your computer make and model or your motherboard make and model....

...or...

Go to www.crucial.com and run their scan program. This will tell you about what type of RAM you have/need, how much it will hold, along with some other useful info on your system.

Thanks for using Fixya.
