SOURCE: Washer/Dryer is not spinning

Friend,
ngfam1 At your service!

Sometimes this can happen when the connector from the transmission to the drive of the agitator is worn and needs to be replaced.Similar to the drive shaft of a rear wheel drive v-8 car!

Could make this sound first, like a knock, knock, knock or klack, klack, klack
OR,SOMETIMES JUST NO SOUND AT ALL AND JUST NOT CONNECTED FROM THE TRANSMISSION TO DRIVE THE ROTATION OF THE TUB!
This means you need parts! and service!
How old is the washer if it is 10 years old or more I recommend being prudish about investing a lot of money in to it!
The newer models are so much more energy efficient, that they save you water, gas or electricity And detergent too!
They can pay for them selves in energy savings in a few years!

If so here is a good company that's found nation wide.
A&E Factory Service
A&E has schedulers available to take appointments 24/7
And they do warranty work too, for most manufactures!

You will be fine

SOURCE: Why won't the drum spin on my LG Tromm front load washer?

I had the same problem and it was a bad sensor assembly (#6501KW2002A). You can order
it from an online electronics store (www.mcminone.com). Cost is approx. $20.

I fixed it based on a thread from 2007:
See http://www.fixya.com/support/t159708-lg_washer_wm1832c

But, here's what I did:
1. Unplug the machine.
2. Take off the back plate that has 4 small screws.
3. Unscrew the big bolt in the middle.
4. Take off the hubcap looking part the bolt was securing.
5. Unclip the two sets of wires on the bottom of the circle you are looking at
(the set of wires to the right are connected to the sensor assembly you want to replace).
6. Unscrew the 6 smaller bolts to take off the circular piece that the sensor assembly is snapped to.
7. Mark with a pen where the sensor attaches so you know where to snap the new one.
8. Unclip the old sensor assembly and clip on the new one
9. Reassemble.

Frigidaire washer makes a very loud humming noise on spin cycle.

Good Morning Larry Looney, thank you for your post!

I understand that your Frigidaire frontload washer is making a humming noise while in spin cycle. This could be a potential problem with your motor or drum bearing. In order to find the proper cause of the humming noise I would highly recommend having a professional technician come out to your home for diagnosis and repair. This will help to avoid any unnecessary part purchases as well as any future issues. -Matt

Front end washer not washing or turning all u hear is the motor what causes this to happen

Hi Arthur Williams, this is AP! Thank you for your post.

I understand you are having trouble with your front load washer not spinning, but you can hear the motor. There are many situations that could prevent your drum from spinning. Overuse of detergent can result in too many suds restricting the tub from turning properly that will not spin out. Is the washer making a humming noise? Try putting the washer on spin only, if the drum will spin then it could be kinked hoses, if not it could possibly be the motor or the door lock assembly, timer, pump, control board not communicating. I would recommend having a technician come out to diagnose your front load washer. I hope this information proves helpful for you.

Thanks,

Hi just read your posting. Now when you hear the humming noise, even though the machine is not powered up, is the noise comming from the top near the MOTOR CONTROLLER? Why did you replace the RPS ?If the hum is coming from the CONTROLLER then your CONTROLLER might be faulty. When the machine is not powered up no noise should come from it at all. Please reply with additional information on the questions and I am sure I can help you rectify this fault.

I removed the bottom panel under the door and drained the the tub. There is a white filter housing that unscrews, but you need to have towels handy to catch the water that comes out. The machine appeared to work after that but it would'nt drain and it turns out that the humming noise was coming from the drain pump connected to the filter. I ordered a new drain pump assembly, which should be easy to replace since it is located at the front of the washing machine.

Washer does not remove water in final spin

If washer hums when it should spin, and the washer will not drain, you may have 2 issues.
First check that the drain pump, drain hose, and wall drain are free of debris.
The washer may not spin properly if the drain system is not operable.
Once you are sure the washer drain pump, drain lines, wall drain, and drain hose is okay, run a test wash.
If the washer hums but now drains, you fixed one issue.
If the washer still hums, you may have a bad belt, motor coupler, motor itself, etc...
Check parts for wear and replace as necessary.I pulled the drain impeller and found a sock from my little guy stuck in there. Fixed!
check all water outlets to make sure there is nothing blocking the pipes.
