Whose responsibility is it to get a Police Report detailing the how and when for Insurance purposes for goods I stored in a facility went missing whilst in the care of that storage facility?

Goods stored at facility at a monthly rental. I had no access to storage facility. I was out of the country. Storage facility did not contact me at any time. Storage facility says I must claim from my Insurance company. I have no details of how and when the goods went missing. Storage facility cannot provide these details.

Am I correct in my assumption that without a Police Report for goods lost / missing from a storage facility there can be no insurance claim?

In general, a police report is not always required to make an insurance claim for goods lost or missing from a storage facility, but it may depend on the specific terms and conditions of the insurance policy.
Most insurance policies require the policyholder to provide proof of loss, such as receipts, invoices, or other documentation. This documentation can help establish the value and ownership of the lost or missing goods.
However, some insurance policies may require a police report as additional proof of loss or to help prevent fraudulent claims. It is important to review the terms and conditions of your insurance policy to understand what documentation is required to make a claim for lost or missing goods from a storage facility.
If you are unsure whether a police report is required or have any questions about the claims process, it is recommended that you contact your insurance provider or agent for clarification and guidance.

Am I correct in my assumption that without a Police Report there can be no claim on insurance?

Insurance Claims. In most cases, you will not need a police report to file a claim with your insurer unless there is extensive damage that you'd like to be compensated for, or something unusual happens, such as a crime taking place or the other driver fleeing the scene.

Hello, You will have to get a police report and call the person that caused the accidents insurance. Your insurance isn't responsible, they are only if you have full coverage and the other person, has no insurance.

I would suggest contacting your government and your insurance agent as a starter. Try suing the insurance company. You should be able to contact the police and get a report.

perhaps you could go in and talk to the administrator and see if they have a criminal background checkup for each employee or perhaps CCTV covering the corridor/room/event. your home insurance might cover it as you have filed a police report. if it is a lot of money (ie diamonds) the insurance company might require a lie detector test these days.

Ma 5800 lost on yesterday nite..

Call your provider RIGHT NOW and suspend service on the unit. Otherwise, don't be surprized if you get a telephone bill for a million dollars.

We can't find your phone for you, this is a Fix it place, not the lost and found. File a police report for insurance purposes. Do it now.

What we can do is what I just did, tell you to suspend service and make a report.

Thanks for your interest in FixYa.com
