Hi,

Solution 1) Press Hold/Sleep & hold buttons at same time for 20 seconds, This may fix you problem.

If problem is still alive follow solution 2

Solution 2) Press Hold/Sleep & hold buttons at same time for 10 sec. & then leave only Hold/Sleep button keep home button pressed & connect you ipod to PC, That means you have to bring your ipod in DFU mode (Recovery mode) Check out this video for getting ipod touch in DFU mode http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bITIiGswjFI
. itune must be run on PC.
It will ask you for restore. Accept Restore you ipod touch request by itune. Wait for few minutes while ipod being restored.

Sounds like you've got a problem with your hard drive.

I would suggest downloading, burning, and booting a copy of Ubuntu to determine whether the problem is software or hardware related.

It might sound complicated but it's not, just follow the steps from Ubuntu's site HERE.

Let me know what happens when you run Ubuntu.

ubuntu by the way is just FREE open source Linux software, it basically treats the CD you burn as the hard drive so NO CHANGES will be made to your computer so it's SAFE !!!
