Abdominal pain is caused by inflammation (for example, appendicitis, diverticulitis, colitis), by stretching or distention of an organ (for example, obstruction of the intestine, blockage of a bile duct by gallstones, swelling of the liver with hepatitis), or by loss of the supply of blood to an organ (for example, ischemic colitis). To complicate matters, however, abdominal pain also can occur for unclear reasons without inflammation, distention, or loss of blood supply. Pritor is used to treat high blood pressure with no obvious cause, and for people with cardiovascular problems.

Side effects are not common, but may rarely include one or more of

- upper-respiratory-tract infections
- *******-tract infection
- anaemia
- depression
- insomnia
- vertigo (dizziness)
- hypotension (low blood pressure)
- shortness of breath
- cough
- abdominal pains
- diarrhoea,
- heartburn
- nausea
- back pains

If you are taking Pritor and you notice any of these effects, go back to the doctor for advice. You may need to have an alternative prescribed, of which there are several.

There are several causes possible, some of them more serious. The only thing to do here is to go see a doctor, and tell all. The doctor may feel your tummy, and possibly order tests.

Make sure to say whatever you have eaten, and any activities like strenuous exercise, at the time the pains began.

You should always consult with your physiotherapist before you start although Pilate's workouts are very helpful for back pains. This is an extremely common side effect of pregnancy. During pregnancy you have a few reasons for this:
1) Increase in progesterone, decreases the contractility of smooth muscle. Smooth muscle is what makes up the bulk of your Gastrointestinal Tract. This decreased contractility will lead to nausea, constipation and sometimes cramping.
2) Increase in abdominal size will lead to pressure on the GI tract especially the stomache causing heart burn and slowed emptying of the stomache.
