SOURCE: Washing Machine Door won't open

I had the same problem. I went through all the steps on this thread to no avail. Finaly I just pryed the thing open - with no damage, thank goodness.

Once open I saw that the latch in the door didn't move when I pulled the handle. The problem it seems was in the latch on the door itself. If you end up this problem and want to get wet clothes out, just stick a flat-head screwdriver, behind the door latch into the horseshoe-shaped metal bit and lever it open - no prying necessary.

Not sure how I'm going to fix this permantely but at least I got my wet clothes out and can do laundry as long as I keep the screwdriver near by.

To fix - I'll either need to figure out how to disassemble the door and replace the latch mechanism, or just buy a whole new door.

SOURCE: door won't open

Check your instruction manual to see if there is a childlock feature that has been activated.
Is there water in the machine or has it completely rinsed out?
If you switch the power off and wait a couple of minutes, can you then open the door with the power still off?

Hello, my Zanussi washing machine ZWH 7120 P stops working after 40minutes with water inside it. When I try to open it shows error e41 (doors are open) but I can’t open the doors. Where should I start...

This error means the washing machine door will not open promptly or might not open at all. It could be caused by a number of potential issues from wiring faults to damage to the door lock..

I have a fisher pakel washing machine GW711 ,power shut down just before the end of the spin cycle and won't turn back on

Hi Jeffrey.
Remember that the power starts at the consumer unit (fuse box); make sure that a fuse hasn't tripped.
Next, check the plug socket; the best way to confirm that there isn't a fault with the plug socket is to plug another electrical appliance such as the kettle to see if it boils as it should.
If all is ok with the consumer unit and the socket next you now need to confirm the wiring to the plug looks good and there are no kinks or breaks in the wire, and check that the fuse in the plug is ok.
Check the washing machine door Again, often overlooked but it's a simple mistake to make. Check your washing machine door is closed and closed properly. All washing machines have what's known as a door interlock. It is designed to stop the door from being opened when the machine is switched on, and unless the door of your washing machine is fully closed and latched, it won't start.

GLTF1240ASO Front Door Won't Lock/Close

Most probably your door lock is damaged. You are not supposed to force it open, you have to wait for at least 2 minutes (or till the lock sign is off) after the wash is over to open the door, never force it.
You can just google your model number and search for parts to obtain it. It is quite possible you can change it yourself. See that the line is disconnected from the mains.

My son put a load of laundry in and forgot the hot water heater was broke when he turned the machine on. It wouldn't run and the door is still locked. We tried unplugging it, holding the cancel butt

Remove the lower panel by taking out the screws at the bottom. Unplug washer. Then reach up inside to the bottom of the door switch and pull down on lever to unlatch the door. Try running machine again after plugging back in.

Hi, I have a zanussi wwashing machine model= ghg1200apm. The door won't open. I plugged out the machine after the wash and when i plugged it in again, the door wont open. Can you help me?

Hi.

The door does not open because there is water inside the machine. To open the door you need to empty the tub first.

To empty the tub disconnect power, open the door at the bottom of the machine's front side, unscrew the drain filter cap and collect water using a container.

Usually that is enough to allow the door to open. If the door does not get released, try running a cycle again.

If still no luck, then the door is locked either because the pressure switch detecting water level is clogged with soap or because the power surge has damaged some component. In that case the machine must be partially disassembled to reach the back of the door opening mechanism. The door latch is reachable either from drain filter access or from top of the appliance.

Emptying water through the drain filter and/or restarting a cycle usually is enough to release the door lock.

Regards.

Bosch washing machine classix 6 Stopped working. wont let me program it. A key symbol flashes on

I believe that the key symbool indicates that the machine cannot lock the door. Sometimes the result of a slightly sticking door interlock mechanism. Open the door and close it hard and firmly (slam it a bit, but don't get silly about it!). A good test to see if this is the problem is to attempt a program with the door swinging open. If the symptoms (flashing key) are the same, then the issue is almost certainly narrowed down to that door lock mechanism.

If this fails, unplug the machine from the main power source and leave it for 20 minutes to allow it to reset its self, then try again.

Door sensor broken?

Sounds like you, indeed, have a broken door latch. If the latch is not able to lock successfully, it will not go into any wash cycle and will exhibit the symptoms you are describing. The door was designed to be closed gently, not slammed or forced. To replace, you will need to do the following: 1. Unplug the machine. 2. Remove the bottom kick plate. 3. Remove the rubber door boot from the around the door opening. There should be a wire hoop holding it into a groove with a small tension spring located at the bottom of the door opening. Feel around the rubber lip and locate the tension spring. Stretch this spring and pull the wire hoop from the groove. 4. Remove the rubber boot from the outer seal and push towards the inside of the wash tub. This will give you access to the inside of the machine casing. 5. The door latch is located inside the casing on the right hand side. There are three screws holding it in from the outside and a wiring harness and retaining clip holding it from the inside. Use care when removing the wires from the old latch. The wires are small and can break. I hope this leads you in the right direction. Let me know if you need any further advice.
