My washer accumulates lint between the wash tub and the outer chamber. Whenever you wash a load, all the past dried up lint gets reactivated into the new wash water.

If you get a refrigerator or dryer lint brush, you can reach this area and brush out the accumulation. Also the area above the wash tub can get clogged with lint. If you look under the lip between the tub, you can see the fabric softener/bleach channel dispenser, a lot of lint can accumulate there as well.

Clean both areas after a recent wash load when the lint has softened and is easy to scrub off. For safety's sake, unplug the washer. Be ready to be grossed out! I clean my washer every now and then to keep the lint down.

The washer will smell nice and clean after getting this lint/dirtball out. To maintain this lint free environment, see below.

If this fails and is not the problem, go to a thrift store and purchase the cheapest 100% pure wool clothing, some dark colors, and some white. The wool acts like a magnet for lint and will attach itself to the wool before it attaches to your clothes. It can be used over and over if you hang it out to dry. It will get felted and covered with lint.

Check lint filter and clean. Make sure you don't leave any Kleenex's in the dryer.

After speaking with someone with trouble shooting experience in these matters, I now believe the problem lies NOT with the washer but with a bad batch of laundry detergent which fails to dissolve properly in the water.  

Seperate fluffy linty clothes and wash those separately; never mix that stuff up. Also keep the dark and lights separate.I do a number of smaller loads that are in a lot of water; you get cleaner clothes and less wear. Overloads are hard on the washer and the clothes. Rots of Ruck.

Most US-sold washers made after the mid 1980s don't have lint filters. The manufacturers weasel-word around it by saying that the lint "goes down the drain", leading people to optimistically assume that there is a self-cleaning filter in there somewhere. There usually isn't and whatever lint doesn't go down the drain is filtered by your cloths (but whatever does might clog your septic system). As a result of this scam, it's much harder to hang-dry or iron-dry clothes that haven't been hand washed. And, if you think spending $2000 on a pair of matched "front-load" style machines will solve this, you might be wrong; many of those washers still have no lint filter.

Be sure to use higher water level on machine, don't overload machine Seperate lint givers from lint attractors. There is a lint catcher mounted on the bottom of the spin basket but it is self cleaning.

linting is caused by a few things
firstly what sort of soap poweder do you use
i recomend good quality powder
do not wash clothes too long as what you are doing is rubbing all the fibres out of them
good quality washing powder only last about 6 minets in water and after that it looses its qualiteseg
the PH changes in the water
you may be using too little soap powder and this also depends on water quality eg too hard or soft water
is the water levels set corectly
do not mix washing
eg towels with jeans as the lint will come off onto jeans
try using delicate wash on different fabric as the adgitation is different on different cycles
try using warm wash and not cold machine is probable ok but wah times are important

sounds lik the main bearings are faulty and needs a strip down to replace parts otherwise another machine may be in order

have you checked the pump out of the maachine
the pump may be blocked restricting water flow
if that is ok maybe you need to give the n
machine a hot wash the seals may be draging the spin down
