I have an older dishwasher also and recently my wife also complained about it not cleaning right... so me being the man I am tried in vain to clean the things... Bought new spray arms online and installed them in minutes...now the thing works like new... However I have also found that if the heating element goes bad then that also can mess things up bad... Replacing Drum paddle lifter for Asko washing machine?

BIG JOB !! The machine will have to be fully stripped down as the only access to the paddle is by removal of the spin bowl itself from the machine. The paddles usually are held on at the front and along the sides by moulded clips that slide into the tub and are secured at 1 end by a set screw. If I remember correctly, the entire bowl assembly is removed through the front of the machine. The top and front have to be taken off to do this. Its a huge job, it may pay to obtain the services of someone who has done this before.

Our Asko dishwasher no longer cleans the top shelf of dishes properly. Fine white and black grit is left on the dishes after every wash, and if there is any food residue on the dishes it does not come off....

The problem is most likely that there is still water residue at the bottom of your machine. If the machine is not fully drained it picks up some of the residue and sprays that onto the dishes during the final rinse, leaving an unhealthy and unsightly film on everything.
Remove the bottom strainers and make sure that there is nothing obstructing the outlet pipe and the pump. If possible back flush through the outlet pipe and try draining the machine again before using it again.

Check also that the arm outlet jets at the trailing end of the arms are not blocked with food particles and other solid matter. This often happens and the arm is unable to turn because the water jet that is supposed to drive the arm does not have the force to rotate it.

My Indesit D63 dishwasher won't close. There is still power to the machine and when you hold the door shut the cycle starts but the door doesn't click shut.

Make sure that the top shelf slides back fully into position. If the flow nozzle does not fully engage onto the water supply jet at the rear of the shelf this prevents the door from closing fully. Sometimes this can be caused by the gasket wearing and preventing engagement this rubber ring is easily replaced and can be fitted by a novice

Need top left shelf runner. fell to bits

Hello, This is common with Asko after a period of use, the heat makes the plastic pieces brittle over time or amount of use. If you still have the ball bearings good, ( 4 per side ) keep them and you'll only need to replace the gray plastic pieces known as the guide rail "ball holders". If you don't have all the ball bearings, get yourself a telescopic magnet and make sure one or more hasn't found it's way into the wash or drain pump as they have a tendency to do so. This obviously can and will cause serious problems because the wash & drain impellers are plastic...steel vs. plastic = not good. The Asko part number for the holder is 8058638 and should come as individuals so order 2, one for each side. The ball bearings are # 8057977 and as mentioned, require 4 on each rail/side. As for where ? I use Amre Supply, so you could check out their on-line availability at amresupply.com if you'd like. Hope that helps solve your problem. Thank you for coming to "fixya" for your solution. Let me know if I can assist you further and good luck. macmarkus :)

Top Rack always slides out fully

Well, you are right on about the level. It is tilted just slightly forward. The only parts to go bad are the plastic ball bearing guides, and usually when they go, you get a rack that wont come out and gets jammed. You 've got the problem, you just need to remove the screws hidden in the holes that are sometimes coverd with rubber plugs so that the dishwasher may move freely, andjust it till it no longer rolls out, then screw it back to the counter to hold it in place. There are no springs in that rack, so either its still tilted forward, or the tank is bowed or bent somehow, and that would mean new dishwasher. Hope this helps!
