this usually means that the remote did not recieve a signal back from the module or the module did not recieve the remote signal
have you tried repeatively to press the unlock button? does the remote starter work or aux( trunk ) ?
also when putting the battery in the remote , be easy because there is a connector plug soldered on the board real close to where the battery is , and if it is hit by the battery hard enough it will cause those solder connections to disconnect and you will get the beeps and or other malfunctions

1st you need to enter the remote into progamming Hold the Function button until the remote gives a long beep and LED light comes on the remote a (it takes about 8 sec.) Then press and hold the remote start buttom until the remote beeps 3 times and LED lights up. Now your ready to program the remote
One of the door has to be open . Insert the key - turn the key to the On position then press the button on the antenna once and then press it again and hold it
You hear a chirp and then you press the lock button on the remote and then you hear a second chirp to recieve confirmation and then release the button and the turn off the key .

Plug the charger into an outlet. Plug the charger into the remote, unplug the charger from the remote. Repeat until "charge" appears on screen of the remote. You may have to repeat the process approximately five times until charge appears. There was an issue with the batteries in the remotes having to be reset. If this does "fix" the issue, your problem may be with the charger itself. You can use any usb charger to charge the remote, i.e. phone car charger, computer, etc.
