SOURCE: changing cabin microfilter

Hi,

This is for a 2003 model, yours should be the same. Remove the (7?) philips screws on the glove box and a clip holding the right side by the door.

There are two pages of instructions here (straight from the Nissan service manual):

SOURCE: I removed the three bottom screws from the front bottom cover. The cover will not lift off. I cannot find any other screws holding the cover on. Is there a special way to lift off the botom front cove

If you are referring to the toe panel, after you remove the 3 bottom screws you want to lift it slightly then pull it forward.

2002 530i "OIL" microfilter - DOES THIS PART EXIST?

THe microfilter is just the filter. The oil filter is available off the shelf at advance auto parts. It's the original equipment German brand, "Mann". It's about $12.00. The price of $300 you were quoted is more the range for a transmission oil change, not engine oil.

Don't be confused about the word"microfilter". Again, it just means the filter, same as any other car.

tip

Microfilter

The microfilter is an electrostatically charged filter that captures dust and pollen particles (down to 5 microns) that normally are drawn into the passenger compartment through the ventilation system. It is similar to the filter that you have in your home AC unit. Just like your house filter your BMW's microfilter should be changed also. The recommended interval is at every inspection #1 and #2. However, if your AC smells musty or you have decreased blower fan volume change it sooner.

2001 e39 windshield washer pump relay. Where is it located? I have a continuous 9 volt power to the pump with the ignition off and it appears to have burned out the pump. Need to check the relay, but...

Hi dtkorakbiak,

You will need to remove the passenger microfilter cover under the hood. First remove the filter cover. Then release the tabs holding the delivery tube to the filter housing. The housing lifts up and rotates out out to the side. Under the housing you will find a white plastic cover being held in place with 4 allen bolts. Using a 5mm allen remove the bolts. Once removed, under the cover you will see several control units and fuses and relays. Look for the BROWN relay. That relay is for your wiper/washer system. They do fail after a while. When reassembling the cover. make sure it is seated correctly, if not water can enter the electronics and create problems down the road.

How do i install an in cabin air filter for a 2009 nissan maxima

From the 2009-2010 Maxima Service Manual that can be obtained here. I think Promanuals.net is the only place that has the 2009-2010 full service manual as of now.

REMOVAL
1. Disengage the filter cover tab (1) by pushing up and pull out to
remove the filter cover.
2. Remove the in-cabin microfilter from the blower unit by using the
pull tab on the bottom of the filter.
