SOURCE: triton Le

when you are setting your midi track on the mpc are you changing to 2A-Device02 for the 2nd track? 3A-Device02 would be the 3rd track and so on. Let me know if that helps. you should make a new track for each instrument you record from the triton to the mpc, helps when dumping.

SOURCE: Maybe stupid question....is it possible to record

I believe you have to adjust the levels DURING the bounce operation... I don't think you can do that after.

I would consider using a computer based editing program to handle more than 4 tracks...

Why cant i connect to my pc anymore

If you have updated your computer OS it may no longer be compatable. Other than that do a herd reset on the Korg and see if that helps.

I plug the USB from the D888 to my laptop (Toshiba Satelitte with Windows Vista) and nothing happens. The USB button is turned on.

Not a solution but a question that might get you closer to resolving this. Have you attempted to connect to any other computer with your D-888. Did this work?

When my Korg d8 power is on 'working' message is followed by Init>?, I cannot go beyond this. How to solve this problem? And can I change the internal Hard drive.

It is asking for confirmation that you want to initialize the unit. The manual doesn't say anything about this... but you should try pressing the "Yes" button to confirm you want to initiallize the unit or press no if you want to staart without initializing.

D888 recorder/mixer wont boot up. Screen says "power on failure" initialize" appears that hard drive has failed. though I hear it running

The hard drive has probably failed. In spite of it rotating, the head servo and electronics has to work. I would recommend testing the drive in a computer to see if it works. You will likely have to reformat it after if it does work. FIRST look for obvious things in the D888 like cable that is partially off or loose.

Hi, I have a korg D8 recorder and that i use pretty regularly. One day i switched it on and it was completely dead - no lights, nothing. I've tested the power supply (the one it was supplied with ) and...

Most common cause are failed connectors. Power inout jack failures are common. Beyond that, tracing out the power input for a failure would be in order.

I have a old (but almost unused) Korg d1200 recorder. Recently started getting disc error messages. Followed manual instructions to check disc drive and still get same results. Powered it up just now to...

First thing would be to check the power supply voltages. It may be the disk drive is failing. Drives are inexpensive, might be worth a try with a new drive. Also check that cables to the drive have not been loosend by handling.

Don't know how to Pre-Master or Burn to CD, please help me!

Don Q -

This answer assumes you have the 2488 mkI and not the newer mkII because the process may differ slightly on the mkII.

To premaster you first have to set an out point for the end of your pre-master (the start point is always zero). Go to the 'Audio CD' menu item and choose 'pre-master' under that. You'll see the word 'mastering' appear in the top left of the screen to let you know you've entered mastering mode. Make sure you have the tracks unmuted that you want to mix into the pre-master and have all of your eq, panning, etc set the way you want. Then hit record and play. The pre-master records to a stereo pair of dedicated internal tracks. You can redo the premaster as many times as you like which will overwrite those internal premaster tracks. You can clone the premastered tracks to a stereo pair of tracks, export them as waves or burn them to a CDR.

fnawesomewes - You have to press record and play to record your premaster.
