SOURCE: i lost the usb dongle

Unfortunately, Microsoft does not sell replacement adapters for this device. I contacted our company's direct representative a few weeks ago to replace my own, and they said they do not sell a replacement for this device dongle.

In the future, I'm going to stick with standard bluetooth devices. If your computer is not bluetooth enabled, you can buy a stand-alone dongle for it (even a micro version like for this mouse), and all bluetooth devices will work with it--not just keyboards and mice, but also bluetooth headsets/headphones, wireless speakers, and smartphones.

I lost the usb dongle for my mobile mouse 4000, can it be replaced? if so where can this happen?

Try going to microsoft help and support or microsoft replacement products. If you dig around enough in microsoft you'll find about anything. Also you can e-mail a tech, rep, or what ever they call them selves and get an answer in three or four days, if you're lucky. Also If you know anyone else that has the same mouse you can burn the software off their usb on to another, it don't have to be the little tiny thing . Get you a USB with a few MB on it and burn you a copy or two, DanGill

I lost the connection between my mouse and the computer - I'm not sure how to reset

Try reseting the usb connection. The computer will rediscover the usb "device" and may find it again. Then try pressing the resync button which is probably on the usb dongle. If this doesn't work, press control alt delete. This will bring up your security or process control prompt (depending on how it's set up). If nothing happens after pressing control alt delete, your computer may have frozen (requiring you to cycle power on the computer). If it comes up, use your tab key to cycle through the buttons to the "shutdown" or "restart" button. Once you've reset, you should have your mouse again.

Hope this helps,
Bill

HP 8159URF Wireless Keyboard Dongle lost! How can i use it?

Unless you can find not only the exact part number but a dongle with the exact same serial number its not possible.Having the same issue.I say shame on HP for creating this issue by not wanting to sell type specific replacements to resolve this problem. They would prefer that you buy an entire new set. Good Luck.

LX7 cordless optical mouse with dongle

Hello,

Had the same problem. But before filling the logitech RMA from to get a replacement, I put new batteries into the mouse and the mouse worked again.
I am using rechargeable batteries, and I seems to me even if the green light on the bottom of the mouse is on, the driver warning for low battery does not come on. May be the volage drops to fast with a older set of batteries.

Try out new batteries. Hope this helps.
I am using the LX7 mouse for more than 2 years with lost of abuse (>10x drops from shoulder hight to hard office floor, sitting dongle in my pocket and dropping my backpack onto the floor with the dongle on the botton in the backpack).

Regards.
