Hi,
Beauti-Geek here, the rican n black chica with a little bit of tech knowledge. i love phones, and i'm pretty good at fixing some problems. regarding unlocking this phone, i have a solution that may work. i actually purchased this phone in wal mart for tmobile's network, because my new hot overseas phone bombed on me! lol.
the unlock code that worked for me will be included with instructions below. now, this worked for me, and no im not some a**hole hacker giving you a fake code, as i've experienced a number of times. i called at&t up, and this is what happened:
1-make sure your phone is charged enough to turn on
2-insert the sim card from the provider you want to use
3- a screen should pop up prompting you for the network pin
4-the network pin at&t gave me that i used is:61927661
when you enter the pin, a little hourglass will pop up saying a message similar to "the phone is now unblocked"
5-another message comes up saying it's finding a network, and should automatically pick up the network of your sim card installed on the phone, or it's neighboring roaming network(example, tmobiles roaming neighbor is suncom so mine picked up suncom)
then it updates all your setting with your sim and boom your done.
key tip when trying to get unlock codes:
let the provider know"you have had the phone for a while and you never used it, you set up service but forgot the number(since for example this phone is commonly used with a pre paid plan) and now you want to use the phone with a nother provider because your phone messed up.
most providers will set you up to not get the unlock code by asking how long you have had it. say something over six months, that is at&t's preliminary requirement.
now the script i suggested to use was my actual story to a certain extent. lol...i had just purchased the phone the night before to use as a replacement since my other tmobile phone failed on me. and also another tip:
cell phone companies only know what you tell them, act clueless and jsut be demanding on receiving help, it works.
and also, to be honest, i could tell the rep lady who helped me didnt mind giving me the unlock code, but she said"you have to meet certain requirements" and the way she asked the questions let me know what to say lol.
yall let me know if it works for you okay.

If this phone was originally a Boost phone, it is more then likley on the IDEN network, which is exclusive to Nextel/Boost. Once the new SIM from the company other then Nextel/Boost is put in the phone, it will ask for a special code- thus rendering the phone useless on the new network. IDEN is only used by Nextel/Boost and another company out of the South called southernlinc.
