Easiest way to do this go into windows control panel Administrator tools Computer management disk management You should be able to see the drive there delete the partition then create the new partition under ntfs Then format the hard drive and you should have a usable storage device now Hope this helps
It is probably a driver error on your operating system. I suggest trying a couple different ports- if that doesnt work try a different computer. If that doesnt work most likely your drive file system is damaged and needs to be formatted. Good luck!
You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.
- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds) - Slide the hold switch into "hold" position. - Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.
Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.
u can try to insert your drive to other usb port of your computer or you can also try to use other computer to see if it works with it. if this doesnt solve your problem maybe your drive is defective and if its brand new it has a factory defect.
If you have problems with the file system on your Gmini you can try to fix it using the DOS utility, check disk (chkdsk).
Do the following;
? Make sure external AC adapter is powering the Gmini.
? Quit all running applications.
? Properly connect the Gmini to your computer
? Wait patiently (up to 5 minutes) for Windows XP to show the local drive as mounted.
? Open a DOS window. Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
? At the prompt, type chkdsk e: /f. Use e: or f: or whatever drive letter is representing your Gmini. The /f argument tells the program to automatically fix errors.
? Be patient, this may take a while.
? When it is finished, exit the DOS Window and properly disconnect the Gmini from your computer.
Try using the device now and see if makes any difference. This method should help to fix any disc errors that have occurred within the FAT and help your PC recognise it again. If you have more problems, try formatting it using a DOS prompt. You MUST make sure NOTHING is trying to access the disc before you can format it - this includes windows explorer.
Got to my computer on your desktop and right click on it.
Go to manage select disk management, select your player and then format it. Then reinstall software.
