SOURCE: Karcher pressure washer won't start
Dear ralph_birtwi,
Most pressure washers when their gun is released, the machine stops automaticaly. This is done ny means of a control valve. When the gun is closed...pressure is built and the control valve moves and switches a micro switch off. In your case the micro switch is still closed in off position. Now this happens if a machine is left and stored with pressure in it., This control valve could get jammed and leaving the micro switch in off position. It could also stay in off position by sticking, due to incorrect chemical.
So the control valve or even called spill valve, must be renewed.
Sometimes a little lubrication with the right type of silicon grease will get the control valve working again. This job is sometimes delicate and better done by a qualified technician.

SOURCE: I have an old kew pressure washer and when I pull
Dear dennis_partr,
In general all pressure washers have a control valve. This is sometimes refered to as the Spill Valve. When the trigger is pulled, the spill valve is in normal position. When the trigger is released, the spill valve compresses to let water circulate from its bottom part. If when the trigger is pulled and the bottom part of the spill valve does not close, then water keeps on circulating and hence no pressure. In this case change the spill valve with a new one. Also there could be a fault in the sucktion valves. If the sucktion vaves do not close, also water keeps on circulating. One also can examine the delivery valves. If these are not closing, then water is being sucked while delivering. Hence no pressure. Another cause but very rare, is that the swash plate that is pushing the pistons got loose. The electric motor will be turning, but the pistons stay in the same position.
I mentioned many causes, but usualy it is the spill valve. If with a new spill valve, there is still no pressure....then you must tackle the sucktion and then the delivery valves.
I wish to add that I assume that you have the correct lance and correct nozzel size. A worn out nozzel, will result in low prssure too.

Fulltech.
SOURCE: Karcher dirtblaster does not oscerlate the water.
Stripped down the head of the dirt blaster by unscrewing the shaft from the end nozzle(it was quite tight). Removed the white disc from the nozzle using pliers and then cleaned out the 4 holes in the disc. Under the disc is an assembly which houses a ball bearing. I noticed that the ball bearing did not protude beyond the recess which houses it. I PUT TWO SMALL FIBRE WASHERS IN THE RECESS THEN REPLACED THE BALL BEARING. THEN REPLACED THE WHITE DICSC. Noting that the ball bearing protrude by approx 1/16th of an inch.
Re-assembled and the dirt blaster now works perfectly
