Perhaps the main circuit board or motherboard? It wouldn't hurt to check it out and look closely at all of the little "pathways" between the various components, it's highly probable that the intense vibration and movement caused a solder joint to come loose or a component may not be connected as it should be. Break out your voltmeter and use the continuity tester to your advantage to verify circuits are completed as they should be. I'd imagine you'll find an issue, if not my apologies but that's been the case in my experience more than once. Best of Luck Friend!

SOURCE: washer

The symptoms you describe are typical of a broken lid switch. The lid switch is located under the washer top on the right hand side. It is activated through a slot by a small plastic piece on the lid called a "lid strike". Make sure the lid strike is still installed and not broken. Make sure the lid switch itself is not loose, as well. There are two mounting screws along the washer tub opening that hold it in place. If the screws become loose the switch will not make contact with the lid strike when the lid is closed. If you need to replace the switch or lid strike, the parts are available at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number and look under the "Washer Top and Lid" heading on the next page. The lid switch is listed as item number 22 (part #3355806) and the lid strike is listed as item number 16 (part #358684). Both parts combined will cost you about $30. If you have further questions and/or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Washer will not progress to the rince cycle.

that is either a problem with the timer , or with the cold water hose at the back of the machine, see the following:

I quote from : The cycle doesn't advance

The cycle doesn't advanceWhen the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It'sthe timer, if your washing machine fills with water and beginsagitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spincycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • Itmay be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills withwater, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinsewater. See There's no cold water.

SOURCE: Code F1 @ Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer

An F1 is almost always a defective main control board. Could try unplugging the unit for a few minutes and see if it will reset. The part # for the board is W10110072. Sears sells it for $119.46 http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=WFW8300SW01&productCategoryId=0153200&brandId=1198&modelName=RESIDENTIAL-WASHER&diagramPageId=00003&componentDescription=CONTROL%20PANEL%20PARTS&documentId=W0607261&backToLink=Return%20to%20Sub%20Components%20list.

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune MAH5500BWW Will not spin

maytag neptune washers do have a motor problem and they have a kit to replace the motor and motor controller.
when the motor fails, it wont wash or spin. most units have a 5 year parts warranty and should be replaced with a free part, but you will have to pay an authorized servicer to do this.
if it is over 5 years then i would call maytag and see if they will help you with an authorization for repair.
most of the time they will provide the part for free. just call the 800 # and ask for help. they wont send you the part but might give you some help with the parts.

SOURCE: My Whirlpool ghw9100lw1 isn't rinsing...

"F02" is a Long Drain error code. This generally means you have a clog or restriction in the drainage system somewhere. The following link explains:

    http://www.fixya.com/support/r615268-f02_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

In the majority of the cases, all you have to do is clean out the drain pump reservoir. The instructions are included in the link I provided. If the problem does not go away after you have performed all these preliminary measures, the pump may be damaged and require replacement.

This error code gets generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes. If the pump impeller/motor gets damaged, the pump may not pump at the proper volume and the error code will continue to reappear.

A replacement (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

    searspartsdirect.com
    appliancepartspros.com
    pcappliancerepair.com
    repairclinic.com

The pump is sold as a complete unit. You cannot buy just the motor.

If you have questions about this repair, or require addtional assistance, please let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

F2E1 light is on but all buttons work

The F2E1 error code on a Whirlpool Cabrio dryer indicates a problem with the user interface control board. Even though the buttons on the keypad appear to work, there may be an issue with the board that is preventing the dryer from starting.
One potential solution is to try resetting the dryer by unplugging it from the power source for at least one minute, then plugging it back in and attempting to start it again. If this does not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to replace the user interface control board.
It is recommended to contact a qualified technician or the manufacturer for assistance with replacing the control board, as working with electrical components can be dangerous if not done properly.

Maytag Cent. Washer MVWC400XW3, stuck on SENSING and LID LOCK I replaced the Door Lock and Actuator - still getting the same results as I did before I made any replacments

Unfortunately that error code is for a stuck keypad. It's like the button is being held down constantly. You can replace the control panel or clear error codes and try again, also you need to calibrate this washer after changing parts. If you open the lid and reach between the tub and cabinet at the front left corner, you will find the tech manual.

My top load whirlpool cabrio washer won’t start the was cycle. The lid locks, it’s in sensing mode, but not much past hat happens. I can hear a click or two, and the drum will spin around a quarter turn...

Sounds to me like you have a bad shift actuator. It is a small round plastic motor that allows the washer to shift from agitate to spin. Really easy to change out. Find your service manual which is located in a plastic bag behind the front panel up near the top. Inside of this it will tell you how to get into diagnostic mode and pull up error codes. Most F7 error codes will be solved by replacing the actuator. Follow the manual to run it through calibration mode after replacing the part.

Kenmore HE Washer 100-21302010 makes loud, grinding noises, especially during spin cycle

First of all, the model is 110.21302010. The splined clutch called a splutch is slipping. Replace W10315818 cam, and W10006355 actuator. This is a very common problem with transmission-less top load washers. Tip the machine on its front to expose the under side which contains the motor, pulley, and red actuator motor. To get the splutch off from underneath you must remove the agitator disc when it is upright, and the inner tub. This will expose the inner tub bearing/seal, which also could be worn. Look at searspartsdirect.com to get an exploded view for more clarity.

My Whirlpool Duet front load washer makes a clicking/grinding sound when you start a cycle. The drum never spins, sounds like a plastic gear or something.

No spin, or lite spin try these:

Using a multi meter check for continuity the door switch, which when bad may not allow agitation or spin. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically.

Check the clutch, brake assembly and transmission, one way to check for slipping is to get under the machine after a spin cycle ( this is if u get a lil spin but not much leaving clothes still wet) mix in a spray bottle a lil water and some dish detergent, then spray it on the clutch assembly ( the metal round pc. Connected to the tranny) if it sizzles and steams up then u know its bad and slipping. Another way to check clutch if u get no spin at all? Is to take it out and use ur hand to try and turn the inner spring assembly pushing it around the inside? If its very easy, it BAD should be hard to push by hand.

    Or try the hand test:

If no hammering sound has ever been heard out of this machine, one of the unofficial tests we professional appliantologists will do in the field is called the Hand Test. WARNING:This test is not sanctioned by Whirlpool Corporation; it involves bypassing safety equipment and then putting your hand on and near rotating machinery which could result in injury, dismemberment, disfigurement, disembowelment, mangling, hideous screaming, and a bloody death. Proceed at your own risk! Have a nice day.

    - put the timer on a spin cycle and open the lid- grab the inner basket with maybe 30% to 40% of your hand strength with your left hand

    - turn on the machine and bypass the lid switch by depressing the lid switch with a key until the machine begins to spin

    - if the clutch is engaging properly, the basket should immediately begin to spin and slip through your hand

    - if it takes very little force to stop the tub from spinning, the clutch needs to be replaced.

Next check the motor coupler which engages the tub and tranny to the motor. ( if its bad u usually get no wash or spin or very little of either)

Next check for a loose, worn or broken belt if belt driven. And on some models there is no clutch but rather what is called a splutch. And a MODE shifter. These can go bad and effect the spin cycle.

On some front load models u may need to check the STATOR assembly.

The stator is essentially one half of a motor, it interacts with the tub by creating a strong electro-magnet. If the stator burns out the washer won't spin or agitate. Check the stator for continuity. This part is often misdiagnosed.

Sometimes a no spin machine can be due to a plugged waterpump hose or obstructed water pump propeller. Check these by eye and hand.

Your next step is toremove the cabinetand jumper the lid switch harness (tan to gray). Put the unit in spin and watch the shiny metal clutch disc that is on top of the transmission where the shaft comes out. If the machine starts and runs in spin, check to see if the disc is spinning. If it is, then the problem isnot in the gearcase- look for trouble in theclutch, basket driveor the tub drive block

If, on the other hand, the disc is NOT spinning, check for a problem withthe motor drive coupleror one of its retainers. This washer doesn't have a belt. Instead, the motor is directly coupled to the gearcase by a drive coupler; that's why it's called a direct drive washer.

    GRINDING NOISES:

The plastic drive is known as a splutch (splined clutch). One problem with these washers has been loosening of the nut that locks the pulley to the agitator input shaft. If it gets loose, the pulley drops and the teeth no longer have good contact with the teeth of the splutch basket drive gear in spin mode. The solution is application of blue locktite to the threads of the input shaft. There have also been a lot of failures of the actuator that operates the cam ring of the splutch which raises and lowers the basket drive gear. It is raised for agitate mode and lowered for spin. There is a spring between the basket drive gear and the gearcase housing that maintains pressure on the basket drive gear. There are cams on the cam ring that ride up and down on cams in the splutch cam (housing) as it is rotated by the actuator thus raising and lowering the basket drive gear. The gearcase has a planetary gear set in it.

    Whirlpool Cabrio Washer

The F50 error code indicates that the RPS (rotor position sensor) detects no motor rotation. Check to see if the basket spins freely. If not, you could have an item caught between the outer tub and the inner spin basket. A toy or other item underneath the washer could also prevent the basket from spinning and would result in this F50 code.

If the basket spins freely, you could have a wiring failure that would prevent the motor from spinning.
