SOURCE: Magic Chef Gas Range

Does this oven glows before igniting the gas in the oven? if it does this unit uses a glow bar ignitor in the oven and spark module for the top burners. If it you dont see the spark( or hear the ticking sound the there will be no ignition. Do you smell gas even if there was no ignition happening? If there's gas that eliminate your gas regulator. If it's only one burner with spark but gas won't come on then your gas valve is deffective. But if there's gas and no spark ten it could be poor grounding, wiring, connection or switch or even spark module problem. You to need call your local Appliance service provider on this one. I do not recommend anyone fixing gas related problem if they are not a qualified servicer.

Replace the burner. Quickly. Do not use that burner until it is replaced.

2001 Magic Chef gas stove. How can I find where the electric cord is on my stove.

Hi,

you've taken the correct steps to start. Please attempt to slide some parts of the magic chef to the side. Also, look on the bottom of the device. If all else fails, please call magic chef to find out where the cord might be plugged in.

Thank you.

I have a new chef gas cooker model 503, am told it is hard wired electrics & there is a battery, but electrics are not working. Can u advise where a battery might be located.

The Chef Gas stove model: CFG305WA Is a gas stove and has a hard wired electrical cord. This unit does not take batteries. If it did it would be for the igniter only. Your oven;s igniter is a manual push button type. If the electrical part is not working maybe the power breaker inside the fuse panel was turned off or tripped. If the fuse box is ok then the problem is with the oven. Please let me know if there is anything else. Good Luck.

I have an early 70's Magic Chef series VI oven/stove. The stove works fine. The oven takes about 30 minutes to light. When oven knob is turned pilot works fine. There is no gas odor before the oven lights.

My model is a UA119A-2W and I cannot find a place to light the oven pilot. Nor can I find a copy of the owner's manual anywhere online. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Go to their website (Magic Chef) and there should be a conversion kit. Simple to do - you just change out a few parts. Good luck

Gas smell during cooking cycle - Magic Chef oven

turn off the stove and call the gas company. They will come out for free and check things out. It's dangerous to be there when you're smelling gas. If you want to look into it yourself, use a soapy solution in a spray bottle and spray the gas valve and the gas line all the way from the valve to where it connects into the stove.

Oven not working (lighting) on magic chef stove top/oven

look at the burners in the oven, they usually go bad where they hook to the unit,it will look like a peice is missing.if this is not the case, a wire is loose in your breaker and you're running on 110 instead of 220
