I can't figure out how to remove additional icon. Panasonic support says to do factory reset, but I didn't save the chat. The instructions involved more than just removing the batteries and uplugging the base.
I have tried to silence this unit as I have previous recorders. Here is my solution: take out the 2 screws in the back of the desk top recorder, pry apart the clam shell on screw edge. Snip the red OR blue wire which runs to the speaker.reassemble the clam shell- Enjoy the silence.
Testimonial: "My phone is just a cordless phone with multiple handsets. It's not computer connected."
My apologies, I got you confused with another Panasonic. Please try this:
Step 1
Slide the battery cover from the back of the Panasonic cordless phone.
Step 2
Lift the battery or battery pack from the battery compartment.
Step 3
Unplug the power adapter from the phone base. The power adapter pulls out of the outlet on the back of the unit. Remove the phone line from the bottom of the base.
Step 4
Leave everything disconnected for 60 seconds.
Step 5
Plug the phone line and power adapter back into the phone base.
Step 6
Place the battery back into the battery compartment. Slide the battery cover over the compartment. The phone has now been reset.

You can download the manual for a very similar phone, the KX-TG2302 at http://service.us.panasonic.com/OperMan/findmanual.aspx?cat=TEL and you can figure out all the features of a KX-TG2303. The simple answer is: while you are not using the phone, press the up or down volume button and it should turn the ringer back on. To turn the ringer back off, press and hold the down volume button until you hear two beeps. You can adjust the volume while the phone is ringing. The manual will tell you how to change your ringer tones, etc.

Is there an 'M' on the display? If so, that means it is in 'meeting mode.' All you have to do is press and hold the star key (*) and that will take care of it.
