The day before I had to jump start my car cause it sat up for a while. Well, I drove the car the whole day, stopping and starting with no problem. The next morning I get in, turn the key and the alarm goes off. The alarm has a solid horn sound not the beeping thats common. I tried everything from trying to jump start the car again, charge the battery, called dealer and they suggested that I buy a new battery or tow the car in so that a new remote could be programmed. I haven't used my remote in years and don' t have a need for it now. Mechanically the car is solid don' know what happened?
I have a 95 camry 2.2 and it did the same thing. i helped jump a buddy's car then the horn started sounding. so i called the parts service for toyota they told me theres a switch under your dash, on the floor board, right above where the left is placed. there was a switch, he told me to flip it then my car started working no problem. that was about 1 yr 1/2 ago.
Take batery out and have it load tested the thing is probably near the end of it's life and needs replaced
