SOURCE: defroster leaks

you have a clogged defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere, pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials works awesome, after you clear it and all water drain down tube wrap a piece of solid copper wirearound the heater( black calrod heater right above the drain trough) and stick it in the whole maybe an inch or so. now everythime the heater comes on to defrost it will prevent the hole from freezing over

SOURCE: Water Freezing in bottom of Freezer and dripping out front of freezer door

this could either be a blocked drain from the freezer not allowing defrost water to escape or the defrost heater failing to turn on due to a faulty defrost heater or defrost timer not enabling the water to escape

SOURCE: JCD2389DES Water Leak Problem

Once I saw that the drain tube went up over the coil before draining into the evaporator pan I decided to buy a small piece of flexible plastic tubing and re-route the tube so the water could freely flow down hill. It's been over two months with no additional problems. I can assume that since the water drains freely it doesn't stay trapped in the elbow freeze and the cause the collector tray to ultimately overflow.

If there is a reset button on your ice maker try pushing it. Many ice makers have two holes for reset. A general rule of thumb is if the ice maker fingers are stopped in a slightly vertical position then your ice maker unit is working. If the fingers are stopped anywhere else then it needs some sort of attention or replaced. Make sure there is water, or ice in the ice maker tray, if not then the problem is with water supply.

SOURCE: Water leaking from bottom left freezer/dispenser side

Take the metal back panel off the inside of the freezer, exposing the cooling coils. Below the coils, at the very bottom of the freezer compartment you will find a small drain hole. (Presently covered over with ice) Use hot (not boiling) water and a turkey baster to melt the ice and force hot water into the drain hole until the water runs out the drain hole (and into the defrost drain pan under the refrigerator) on it's own. This should be a Fix-Ya for your refrigerator.

My bottom drawer freezer is accumulating a sheet of ice

Your defrost drain line is clogged or frozen so the defrosted water is leaking into the freezer compartment and freezing into a ice layer in the next cooling cycle. Get your defrost drain line unclogged.

The drain to the bottom is plugged. you will need to completely defrost the unit. The way I do this is to take all the frozen food out and either put into a different freezer or pack all the frozen food real tight in a cooler then use a hair dryer (under constant supervision) to melt all the ice in the bottom. use towels to soak up all the water. after all the ice is melted you should be able to see the drain. this is where the melted ice drains when the unit goes into the defrost cycle. I have used some small amount of hot tap water to clear the drain and once in a while you need to actually push something thru the tube(compressed air or flexable wire) to clear out a blockage (paper, small piece of food or chunk of ice).. Be extra carefull not to crack the plastic with anything sharp or by using to much force. Once the tap water goes down into the very bottom (thru the drain tube into the catch pan) then the ice won't form as the defrost cycle will put the water clear down to the catch pan. sometimes even a scumy mold build up will block the drain. Get the drain as clean as possible and you may need to keep an eye on it so it doesn't become blocked again. After you clear the drain close the freezer and let it cool down before you put the frozen food back into the freezer.

Model CTX18GAZBRWW - (Hotpoint) no-frost - freezer on top Water collects under the vegetable drawers and must be removed every day.

Something to try....on the back wall of the fridge nearer to the top is a little cup like part sticking out. There is water in it but it usually runs down an attached tube inside back wall and ends up under the fridge and gets evaporated. If that tube or the little cup thing is plugged then it will drip in the fridge and collect on the inside bottom of the fridge. So the trick is to clean them out. Check it out ...may solve the problem.

Freezer not freezing, and leaking

If this unit has an ice maker and you noticed water leaking into the refigerator, I had a similar problem. The water turn off valve for the ice maker had a small piece of sand or grit lodged in it and stopped the valve from closing properly. So it could not turn of completely and the valve became increasingly more sloppy as the piece of sand was wedged in further. The solution was to replace the samll valve. An easy job for someone a bit handy.

If the water has frozen in the bottom of the freezer compartment the colliing port for the cold air may also be affected. Don't chip the ice out of the bottom, defrost it with pans of hot water.

Hope this helps

Water leaking onto floor

Angels, sounds like your defrost drain is frozen over. When the refrigerator is going into defrost it's draining through the front instead of the drain pan. You can remove the shelves and peel off the back cover and clear the drain by pouring hot water on the frozen drain hole. If you have a baster of some sort you could try to squirt the hot water through the venting on the bottom of the panel. Another way to to point a hair dryer on the drain hole. The best method is to remove the shelves and panel and make sure the drain is clear. Catriver..post back.
