I have a Skandiluxe CF 309 freezer and would like to know what the min and max represent on the temperature control. ie is min the min temperature or min level of cold?

The SUPER button on a Skandiluxe chest freezer is typically used when you need to freeze food quickly, such as when you've just added a large amount of unfrozen food to the freezer. The SUPER function causes the freezer to operate at its coldest temperature for a period of time, which helps to freeze the food more quickly. The compressor won't burn out just because it's running all the time. The plastic fascia pops out easily from behind(take the little panel off on the side) Set the thermostat to the middle of its range and switch the fast freeze off.

Red light usually means the interior temperature is too warm.

Try resetting system. Unplug for 10 min. Then plug back in. Set all temps. 36 ref. 0 fre.

Min is the least effective, Max the most, min gives best economy for fridges not used much, max is for if you use it a lot and it needs to run longer. As with anything like this, settle for midway point and you can't go far wrong!!!

Put it on Min. If that is to warm set it on med.

On my Skandiluxe CF309 chest freezer, the ORANGE LIGHT IS FAST FREEZE and should be depressed to quick freeze when adding newly bought items as the temperature will go up when you've opened the lid for prolonged periods. This is also used to drop the temperature when restoring after defrosting. REMEMBER TO TURN THIS OFF. Also, take note of the gauge in the inside of the freezer which tells you which setting to switch the dial to according to how full the freezer is, and therefore the most energy-efficient setting.

The red light is the warning or "alarm" and will light up when the temperature is too warm.

The green light is a "control" light and I can't remember what this is for, but I don't recall seeing it on in the 15yrs or so that I've had the freezer.

TO DEFROST:
(The drain comes out directly underneath the drain hole and there is no hose. Not a very helpful design. I found that if you tip the freezer forward and scoop out as much water as you can, then mop up the rest with a large bath towel, it should do the job.

BTW if you are planning to defrost the freezer (or any freezer for that matter), once you've switched it off, if you have access to a hand-held steamer, and place something like an empty plastic box to catch the ice (we used an unused litter tray as it's the perfect size to catch all the ice in an upright freezer), it saves a significant amount of time. If you don't have one, it's worth investing in a cheap one with the squeegee function so you can do all the nitty-gritty jobs around the house including the windows in no time and no elbow grease at all !!

I bought the same freezer and have the same question.
Anybody know? Did you figure this out vemmy?

1.If this is only a fridge the one knob will be for the min and the other for the max.
max. : As soon as you switch the fridge on it will cool down the fridge to max cool down temp. example -2deg.
min. : As soon as the fridge reaches the max cool down temp and it had switch the compressor off, the fridge will start to warm up slowly, by the time it reaches the min allowed warming up temp, it will switch the compressor back on and do the cycle all over again.
2. If it is a fridge/freezer setup, the one knob will be for the fidge and the other for the freezer. If the temp in the freezer is fine a fan is activated and blows all the cool air to the fridge and controls the temp. by activating the fan.
