SOURCE: My dayton NG heater fan will not shut off properly

Sounds like a bad fan switch. The switch is located on the heat exchanger and is 110 volt bi-metal switch. Follow the wires from the blower going back to the heatexchanger. Graingers can get you a new switch if you give them your model number. www.grainger.com.

Hi check for blockage in the flue check out the pressure switch, check heat exchanger

This problem is caused by a bad flame sensor (looks like a spark plug) which can be cleaned by sanding or with steel wool.

The pilot assembly may need cleaned out and the orifice cleaned, also the gas valve may need to be replaced, to check for proper voltage from the thermocouple you need a flame source and it takes a meter that can register DC milliamps, and should be 350 to 750 millivolts. Heat the thermocouple with the pilot or other flame source and check, if OK, gas valve is weak.

chech the flame sensor or thermocouple which ever it is equipt with. Sensors can be cleaned by lightly sanding them and therocoulpe's need to be replaced.

Hi,
The heater is not proving the flame...and shutting down on safety...
Check the flame sensor and all connections of the ground from the burner to the ignition control...
The control may also be bad...

Grainger says this unit cannot use an alternate fuel.  Go to the grainger site and look under notes and restrictions.
