Need a charger for speaker - Audio Players & Recorders

On the rear of the speaker, you should see a female receptacle, probably the same as your phone. the other end is a usb which would plug into the computer to charge or you can pick up a 5volt wall charger that the usb cable plugs into and the charger plugs into the wall. Any walmart, fry's, radio shack has the readily available.

Please do not modify your laptop charger to power your speakers. The laptop charger probably has too high a voltage and amperage output. (USB chargers don't provide a large enough output.) The Altec Lansing ACS40 speakers need a 15V 900 mA power transformer; the coaxial power connector has the positive voltage on the center pin. The model number on the transformer is 4815090R3CT . Most likely you have a blown charger or the battery pack is bad in the speaker. You can try checking the charger if you have access to a test meter, but it might be easier to find another charger with the same specifications and connector, and same connector polarization. I would suggest starting there.
If you can confirm that the charger is putting out voltage, or have a replacement, and it still doesn't work, then consider getting a replacement battery pack.
Testing both the charger and battery pack with a multimeter first, if you can, is the cheapest way to troubleshoot the problem.

Most laptop chargers put out 17-20 volts while the Ipod speakers use much less (3.5 -5). I believe that your speakers are fried. Hopefully, they are still under warranty and can be replaced.

The first thing you could do is trying another charger of the same type, if the battery starts charging you'll only have to get a good charger, if it doesn't, you have a failing charging jack, circuit or battery at portable speakers.

first of all, is it genuine nokia or chinese nokia. so if its chinese phone then u have to select a specific charger or it can be the charger itself. so check it by changing the same charger. Moreover, u asked about the volume or speaker problem. so, dear, it can be the fault of changed speaker having poor quality or sometimes, it happens due to damage circuitry. check it in depth.
