Plug in ur ipod to the computer then go to the start menu then go to control panel.then click on apperance, after that u should see alot of options but u need to click on the option that says folder options. then the window that pops up from that there will be tabs at the top u need to click on the one that says view. then go down to where it says hidden files and folders and click on the one that says that u want to show them. then click apply at the bottom corner. then go into my computer and click on the ipod icon then there shouuld be a folder that says locked folder click on it then in the next window just rename the files as _unlocked then u should be able to disconnect your ipod and be able to jam out.... it worked for my 120 gb ipod

Mine just stays on and when I do the hold change and hold down the middle button nothing happens and I still have my screen on showing the menu, locked and I can not change it.

  • spyke_525 Apr 22, 2014

the only possible way you would of lost your music is if someone wiped out your memory or set it back to factory setting which is what the company does if you send it to them for them to solve the issue

Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked. If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.

First force the iPod into disc mode. (At the same time) Press and hold the menu and center button down. Continue holding down until those buttons until you see an apple appear on the screen. AS soon as you see the apple, let go of those buttons and switch to pressing the play and center buttons together until you see a check mark appear on the screen.
Once that is done and the iPod is in disc mode connect it to your computer. YOU WILL NEED TO RESTORE at this point. If you need further assistance please do let me know :)

Plug in your ipod and go to itunes it should automatically unlock it

  • Anonymous Dec 03, 2008

have you tried to slide the lock back and forth and then hold down the menu button and the center button at the same time to reset

this depends on what kind of lock your talking about but here you go

also you can go into the hard drive side through my computer and make sure the files are set to view hidden files and go to the folder ipod control open that then open the folder device then delete the file that says _unlocked

that will do the trick send a reply when it works

Unlock my ipod

I assume the unlocking your ipod is the combination that locks the screen and not the little white tab on the top of the iPod. By plugging the iPod into itunes it should unlock it. By restoring your iPod you erase the lock but also your music. If may stay unlocked when you remove it from the computer. Good luck.

Unlocking a 30gb ipod

The great thing about unlocking iPods is that it is very easy, and almost never wipes out the data.

To unlock the iPod, simply plug it into a computer with iTunes. The iPod should unlock, or at least display the "Do not disconnect" screen. It will not automatically sync with a foreign (other computer than it was originally synced with) computer without first asking you, and if you click no, the iPod should be unlocked.

If this does not solve the problem, notify me and I will try to find a different method of unlocking the iPod.
