This requires a lot of information. What is the make and model of the computer? What happens when you power it on? Does it make and sounds? BEEPS? Lights come on? Error messages?

What do I do?!

Try this:

Reboot your PC into Safe Mode With Networking:

Start your computer in safe mode

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs don't run in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed. For more information, see What is safe mode?

Safe mode is useful for troubleshooting problems with programs and drivers that might not start correctly or that might prevent Windows from starting correctly. If a problem doesn't reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic device drivers as possible causes. If a recently installed program, device, or driver prevents Windows from running correctly, you can start your computer in safe mode and then remove the program that's causing the problem. For more information about troubleshooting problems in safe mode, see Diagnostic tools to use in safe mode.

  1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.
Click the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_818.jpg, click the arrow next to the Shut Down button eb058ccf-b21e-4dfe-9bb7-1ad6c83b705c_47.jpg, and then click Restart.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you'll need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.

    • If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.

  3. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the safe mode option you want, and then press Enter. For more information about options, see Advanced startup options (including safe mode).

  4. Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights.

When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of your monitor. To exit safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

Once in Safe Mode With Networking

Click on the two links below and go to the download now tab. Save Rkill and Malwarebytes to the desktop.

My acer aspire 5520 when i press power fan comes up then shut

From your brief description, it seems that your hardware is starting correctly, and then it tries to load Windows. Windows then fails to load fully, and so Windows forces the computer to restart.

So, turn the computer on.
Immediately press F8 (again and again) until a "start-up" menu is displayed. Select "Safe Mode" and see if Windows will start.

If it does, use the "System Restore" application within "System Tools" within "Accessories" to go "back-in-time" to a date/time when your computer *was* working correctly. Restore to that date/time.

Upgraded Studio XPS 435/9000 Ram - Now No Windows 7 Start

Check speed settings in BIOS, make sure that the sticks are the correct voltage for your motherboard. If the specs are correct, try a program like memtest86. This will tell you where the problem is, but it is up to you to find which stick that location is :) Might take some trial and error before you find the defective one!

Your problem is a little hard to say. Have there been any power outtages or has you computer been powered-off rather than the regular shut-down procedure. Windows registry and programs can be thus corrupted.

Also computer viruses can disrupt programs so please run for example
Mcafee's free online anti-virus to rule-out a virus problem.
http://us.mcafee.com/root/campaign.asp?cid=45694

Even if you have an anti-virus installed, it needs to be running the latest virus definitions.

You could also try in programs accesories system tools to select "system restore" and bring back your computer to a date where you understand the problem was not happening. (Try this one last)

Compaq presario 6024 will not start up in windows it gets to the ----- and then shuts down and starts again the same thing over and over

Turn your computer off. Turn your computer on. Hold down on the F8 and select safe mode while the computer is booting. Once your in safe mode and the windows desktop appears, restart your computer again and see if that corrected the problem.

If you don't get into windows via f8, it should tell you on the screen what the problem is. Which usually means reinstalling Windows.
