It shoots out almost blank pages, very light image no matter if I am printing or copying, with the contrast turned all the way up. It has no error messages. I bought a refurbished toner cart and refurbished drum and no luck. Brother then sent me a brand new toner cart and brand new drum and still no luck. With no error messages from neither the computer or the printer display, I am puzzled. It has only 3700 copies on it (practically new machine) and is 1.5 years old. Does this sound like a fuser or high voltage problem?
Ussally drum/toner would fix, will not be fuser, I would suspect Hi voltage board or laser unit, In australia these machines carry a 2 year return to base warranty.
Try reseting the drum counter, this also resets Bias voltage, might be your problem. open front cover with power on and press set, arrow to change drom and select yes.
Otherwise it would be a high voltage board problem, possibility alsoexist that it could be laser unit
Check status page for "71" errors, menu * 2 8 6 4 very very fast, machine will beep "maintence displays" then 77 to print out status page, 99 to return to normal.
on the status page(77) is a error list, last five errors are displayed on about right lower middle of the service status page, what are they?
If it starts out ok, then it isn't likely drum, sound like toner problem to me, does removing and gentle shake and reinserting toner cartridge bring back density to print?
Never have seen this machine with strange faults like yours that gen. toner and drum doesn't fix,
Repair tactics would be check status page for errors, replace drum and toner with brand new, Stop print half way, before fuser to elimate fuser from diagnostic, Clean and inspect drum unit contacts in machine internals, check cables connections, inspect drive mechanism, replace boards/laser
Not a simple problem, need to change parts to isolate fault, your errors dont show anything unusaual and "It's not the cables because the copier has the same problem" is not acorrect statement, Follow repair tatics above.... really you need another machine ti isolate fault, thats what I would do with it, like I say no easy fx here

I print out that status page and it comes out dark and clear. I copy or print after that and it starts out semi-dark and with each sucessive page, it gets lighter and lighter until nothing. I already reset the drum once (150 pages on it now). What do you think?
machine error 1-5 85 / A1 / 84 / A1 / 84
machine error 6-10 A1 / 84 / 84 / A1 / 85
com error 1 BF030000
com error 2 BF030000
com error 3 BF010000
I have replaced the toner and drum with first refurbished AND then new parts straight from brother.
It's not the cables because the copier has the same problem.
