SOURCE: when I hit the 'open' button the face continues to cycle

ribbon tape sounds bad. it goes from the units main board to the detachabel faces rear mounting plate , u can inspect it for cracks , most of the time theyre visibel from looking under the unit while face is open

Testimonial: "No damage evident, eventually gave up on it and gave to a repair shop to salvage parts but Thanks!"

JVC KD-AVX1. The head unit will not "turn on" when the power button is pushed. The display just stays off. The face lights up when you press the eject button and opens up and you are able to feed...

is this a headunit you have just installed? if not then I am not sure, but if it is, try swapping the red and yellow wires over. One should have permanent live, the other should be switchable. (unless you want the headunit to stay on when the ignition is off, in which case put them both to a permenant live feed.)
Hope this helps.

Camera switches itself off unless the viewing screen is closed.the camera will still take shots using the viewing lense but will shut off immediately if the screen is opened.

This behavior comes when the camera is confused about whether the flip-screen is snapped into the camera screen out or screen in (for protection). The screen is supposed to turn off automatically when you snap it into the camera-back screen down. But if you flip and twist it in a certain way, the camera gets confused. I'll bet that if you keep your screen out, on the side of the camera, you can take pictures just as well as ever. To fix the problem, flip the screen out with the camera on, then rotate it all the different ways you can which allow you to close it with the face out. One of the orientations will leave the screen on, I believe. At least this procedure is the one I followed on my A610 to fix the same problem.

Cd drive has disk in it and wont open

Look closely on the face plate and around the face plate of the CD drive. (better to have good flash light/Torch while doing this). Close to the eject button (Or around that area) there will be a very small hole (pin hole). Switch off your computer if it is powered. Push a needle or a safety pin into this hole. Take care to push it in straight (not angled). If it does not open in the first attempt repeat changing the angle slightly. May take 3 or 4 tries. But you can definitely get it opened.

Garage door won't stay closed

Check the down limit:
If the light bulb(s) on your operator are on the front and/or back, the limit adjustment screw is on the left side of the operator (looking from the back of the operator and facing  the garage door).. If the lights are on the sides of the operator then the limit adjustment screw is on the left side (looking from the back of the operator and facing  the garage door)

Kodak Easy Share Z1275 stuck lens

I have a Kodak 1275. Green light would go on the off and lens was stuck open. Now for solution that worked for me. Get a can of compressed air, like what you use for computer keyboards. Blow the compressed air all around your stuck open lens, not to fast and switch directions of where you blow air around stuck opened lens. Make sure batteries are fresh and fully charged. Tap your camera against the palm of your hand twice, not to hard or you may damage instead of jarring lens lose. Next lay your camera on a table lens facing up, push power button on so camera will try to auto focus and lens should reseat itself and lens should move freely. It doesn`t have to look dirty or dusty, little tiny particles can cause the lens to get stuck and shut off fast because it is a safety feature. If this does not work try plugging your camera into computer so the lcd screen does not try to go on , thus giving even more power to get your lens moving . Do not try to force it closed by pushing or twisting with your hand or you may cause damage that will cost as much as the camera to fix.

Kenwood kdc-x869

Alot, of the radios have a common problem with the connection from the radio's detachable face. What happens is corrosion builds up on the connectors between the pin and the connector itself. Sometimes you can clean it off with a small file. Also, some KENWOODS with the motorized face are known to have a problem with the ribbon cable connecting the face plate to the main board. The last time I repaired one I called KENWOOD and aquired the cable for about 65 dollars, what the problem is, is the cable is wrapped around a plastic white spindel with a high tension spring and places alot of pressure on the cable from the wear and tear of the face opening and it will cause strange problems such as: turning on and off, some buttons working while others don't, and the display partially turning on and off.
