Fixing and recharging air conditioners and refrigeration can only be done by licensed engineers. 'Freon' isn't used any longer, it R104 or similar. An engineer will use a spray to find where the leak is, fix it, suck out all the air, refill with Nitrogen, test for leaks again, then suck that out and refill with the correct number of pounds of refrigerant. It is the only way.

SOURCE: freon leak

This is NOT a member of the family. The sealed system repair cost (to replace the evaporator) would exceed the price of a replacement dehumidifier. (even if it is in warranty, most all manufacturers will replace it rather than do a sealed system repair on it) Buy a new one.

SOURCE: air conditioner last fall was low on freon, almost

It can be difficult to fix a leak without the proper tools. Hopefully the leak will be in a flare nut that can be tightened, or sometimes repairmen will forget to tighten the service port nuts. The service ports are where the copper lines connect to your outdoor unit and service guages would connect as well.
You can try to make you some real soapy water solution in a bowl. Take a little paint brush and brush it on to every connection you can find on the copper lines. You can buy a small container of soap bubbles at a plumbing or air cond supply house. In order to weld a leak though, you will have to relieve all refrigerant out of the unit and use a torch, then re evacuate the unit and charge it back up. This would take a repair man. Good luck

My 6 yrs. old window ac is not cooling well after service some body says there is a problem with capacter or some says there will be gas leakage pls. advice

Hello
If its not cooling good you may have lost some freon due to a leak. You will need to have the unit leaked checked and refilled.

If you do not feel or hear the fans running then you may have a bad fan motor, which will need to be replaced.

How do mi check the freon

Refrigerators don't need freon added to them unless there is a leak and until you find and repair the leak you have not fixed the problem.

A lot of people think when their refrigerator is not cooling that they need to add freon. This is not normally the case 99% of the time. You are a lot more likely to have a defrost problem or a fan problem if your refrigerator is not cooling.

If you actually do need freon, call a reputable professional. There are a lot of guys out there that will just add freon because you told them it needed it, charge the heck out of you and then leave. Be careful about telling some jack leg that you need freon.

Domedic duotherm 13.5, comp runs but no cool. looked at unit to find schrader valve... not there. does piercing tool work for adding freon. all else appears on good condx. I think it just needs gas. does...

if compressor is comin on an you r sure then you are low on freon, there is not a port to put freon in you would have purchase a tap valve on the bigger line then apply freon to it ,thats located inside of the system

Why would a dryer be leaking water at the bottom?

look for a restricted vent . and a cold floor or room . this would cause condensation and would leak from inside / causing leakage on floor in or around the dryer .. hope this helps . pls leave feed back .. mm

How do i get the freeon in the ac its not getting cold

Air Conditioners don't 'Use' freon per se. A common fallacy is the thinking that if "It's not getting cold, then it needs freon." If your unit lost freon, it has a leak and adding freon will only be a very short term fix.

If you're certain that you need freon, you'll have to take the unit to a certified HVAC technician. EPA regulations make it nearly impossible for the average handyman to service A/C units, since the freon must be handled in a very specific way with equipment not generally available to the average owner, was well as R-12 freon gas which can be bought only by licensed HVAC technicians.

However, there are many other problems that are far more likely to be the cause of no cooling than loss of freon. It could be something as simple as dirty condenser coils (you'd be surprised how common it is that a simple cleaning of these coils will 'fix' a non-working window A/C), to a defective thermostat switch, to other defective switches/controls.

Unless it's a very obvious leak, I always suspect a loss of freon LAST on my list of possible cause of non-cooling in these units.
