Hello, the wife and I have a non digital Maytag bravos mvwx700XL0. Pretty handy mechanically and am a Journeyman Licensed electrician. But I have not worked on appliances like this much before so I am looking for some direction. I found the technicians troubleshooting guide and performed a automatic self test. The unit seem to perform very well under testing. But during a normal wash cycle The agitator doesn’t seem to be performing like it should. I understand these high-efficiency units work differently but agitator was not cycling through the clothes because each piece stayed in the exact same spot through the cycle. Not much use, belt intact, and I seen the agitators full force during the self test. Also once the pay cycle is complete the clothes at the bottom are soaking wet still. If one of you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Remove the lid lock catch and place it in the lock. Start the cycle with clothing in the machine and observe what the machine is doing or not doing. These machines don't wash that well as they use very little water. They also put LOTS of wear on clothing that lays on top of the agitator disc. However, they do spin at a fairly fast speed so you should have no soggy clothing at the bottom of the tub.

SOURCE: Thumping/knocking/rattles during wash agitation cycle

Mine is doing the same thing. I opened it up to see what was happening and it was the drive belt tension arm bumping around. Soon, the belt started slipping during the spin cycle. Now it won't spin and the belt starts to smolder from the friction of the drive motor. If you haven't checked your belt, that's a good place to start.

Take wash plate out and inspect splines. They may be stripped.

Maytag bravos x lid lock overide or bypass

Washer not starting Cycle:
I would have to slam the washer lid before the washer recognized the lid was shut.
What I did to fix:
1. Ref the link below for Schematics
http://blog.kennyluong.com/Tricking-A-Maytag-Bravos-Washer/
2. Looking at the Lid Lock section of the Schematic:
Place a jumper between pins 2 and 3 of J15
This engages the 1st switch (Lid switch) so, I don't have to slam the lid anymore
3. Since my Lock switch (2nd switch), which is engaged with a magnetic, is working, my work is done.
If you find that your machine is still not starting the cycle after jumpering pins 2 and 3, you will need to replace the Lid Lock mechanism or ref the above link for temp bypass.

I have an F51 code on my maytag washer...is it easy to fix a RPS issue?

Hello,

If you are handy, yes. The rps sensor is mounted to the motor. Remove power and tip the unit back. The motor has one bolt in the middle that holds it in place. Once the motor drops out the sensor clips off the stator motor.

First time will take you two hours or so. Not difficult time consuming though.

Cutler-Hammer RD320T33W. I am experiencing random trip events with no load or very little load. What should I check for defect?

If I remember correctly that is a pretty good size breaker, and I would strongly suggest that if you are not a qualified journeyman electrician or higher I would not go any further with this it can be extremely dangerous. Random tripping can be caused by several causes good chance that breaker is faulty. If this is the 2000 amp 600 volt breaker I strongly suggest calling a fully licensed electrician.
