I'm dissembling my Mitsubishi Big Screen TV model # 65809 for disposal. Are there any capacitors or other things which might have enough stored energy in them to be dangerous to me?

Yes, but if you leave it unplugged for at least 1/2 hour you should be safe. Use insulated tools or rubber gloves to be sure.

Do you get any power indicators? it may be a problem in the powersupply area, or something more serious. Start with checking the fuses there.

SOURCE: screen too big for mitsubishi black diamond tv

It was actually a problem with the satellite feed, not the TV. Dish Network was zoomed in, hitting the asterisk button on the dish remote fixed the problem.

SOURCE: how do I reset big screen tv to 1080 on remote

You don't.
It should automatically switch to 1080 when and only when there is a HD signal present. Otherwise it will be in 480 and you will need to use the format button on the remote to change the picture size. If it does not switch to 1080 and you know for sure you have a true HD signal present, there is a problem with the unit.
Hope this helps,

Mitsubishi ws-65809 focus problem

this is is some resistors on the conversion IC or IC's that control the color alignment
these big chips should also be replaced , they are on big heat sinks and the chips indentification will be on them they start with STK followed by numbers , you can get these from an electronic parts supplier store , but make sure you get all bad resistors replaced and change any electrolitic capacitors that don't look good
here is an example and also might be your chips
