Cant connect to Internet with Panasonic smart bluray player

I have a Panasonic DMP BDT280EB Smart bluray player, I've setup on wifi. I have agreed to the terms & conditions & privacy policy but everytime I press the internet button on the remote this page reappears as if I haven't ticked the box and selected Ok which I have. I have an ordinary panasonic hd viera tv not a smart one. Has anyone any ideas what might be the problem? Many thanks in advance

I've got exactly the same issue with the same model blu-ray player! The video below hasn't helped. How about you? I'm hoping I don't have to send it back. Thanks

No that video is no help to me either, I know for a fact my wifi is working fine as I have my ipad using it with a very strong signal.

I think its a software problem with that latest firmware, I didn’t have to update it as it was already updated to the latest version for this player ie. 2017.

I bought this mainly to replace a older now defective panasonic bluray player, and the fact that it was a smart one (so that I could access tv apps) was going to be an added bonus.

I bought this cheap as a refurb from the panasonic outlet for £39.99 on ebay, but wonder if they may be able to help with this issue. As theres absolutely no help from panasonic’s youtube videos!

I’ve just searched again and it appears there was a firmware update after the 2017 one so I’ll try to download that to see if it fixes my issue.

I’ve gone throuh this procedure several times with no joy

  • Catherine Ralphs Mar 09, 2019

Oops looks like mine has the latest firmware, I wonder if this is whats causing the problem?

Catherine, I must be living in the ice age I never realized how much Panasonic's attitude has changed try https://www.panasonic.com/uk/support.htm... this is supposed to be their chat line. Hope it works may your great country always be great. Cheers.

I think we purchased the blu-ray player from the same eBay seller! Panasonic_Outlet? Like you I purchased the player in order to replace a older now defective model, total bonus it had smart features included. I used the chat feature on Panasonic support. It didn't help. However, you should give it a go. They said to reset the player. Press and hold the OK yellow and blue button for more than 5 seconds. You'll then have 00 RET displayed on the right hand side of the screen. Press the right arrow repeatedly until 08 FIN shows. Then press and hold OK for more than 5 seconds. This had no effect on my player whatsoever. Again asking for me to agree to the terms and conditions etc. When I told them it hadn't made a difference they told me to find my nearest Panasonic repair shop. I don't want to send the player back because it was a good deal. How do you manually download a firmware update?

  • Catherine Ralphs Mar 11, 2019

Many thanks for this, just tried it and lo and behold it doesn’t work which I’m not at all surprised about.

Mine has thr latest firmware update, but I wonder if its worth trying to put the update before that to see if it works.
To download firmware go tohttps://av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/sup... select blurayplayers and find the model the last firmware update was may 2018.

Theres full instructions on that page on how to download to a flashdrive.

  • Catherine Ralphs Mar 11, 2019

Yes we did and if i cant get it to work as a smart player then its just one of those annoyances I will have to put up with. As before my old model stopped reading disks.

  • Catherine Ralphs Apr 11, 2019

Lots of to-ing and froing and no joy. I contacted them again but no reply. I cant send it back as its a refurbished one I only paid £39.99. Many thanks for everyones help, its a great little player I just have to live with the fact that I cant use its smart facility!

  • Catherine Ralphs Jun 19, 2019

They came back to me with various things to try and non of them worked unfortunately. So I just use it as a standard bluray player without the smart facility!

SOURCE: Need help hooking up TV, BluRay, Home Theatre & cable box

I found that since the Panasonic TH50PZ80U TV has only 2 HDMI ports on the back of the TV, the best solution for me was to use component (red, blue, green) cables to connect the Home Theatre to the TV. I suppose I/you could connect the home theatre to the HDMI port on the front panel, but I don't want cables hanging out the front of the TV (personal preference). Unfortunately, I am no longer able to use the VIERA Link functionality available by connecting all Panasonic components to each other using HDMI cables, but I feel it's a small price to pay for the incredible picture quality acheived by using the HDMI cable to connect the HD Cable Box to the TV. I may yet be able to control everything using the HD Cable Box remote, but I haven't gotten that far yet but I've got Comcast coming on Saturday and hopefully they can let me know if this is possible: let me know if you have a solution.

So here are the components and the cable types used to connect:

  1. HD Cable Box to TV: HDMI cable & Optical Audio cable
  2. Home Theatre to TV: Red, Blue & Green component cables
  3. BluRay Player to TV: HDMI cable
I hope this helps someone else.

SOURCE: Panasonic TX P50V10B Plasma TV

In order to get any of the Freesat channels, you need to connect a Satellite dish to your TV. If you have a Sky dish, you simply need to run an extra Cable from the LNB from the dish and connect to your socket on the back of your TV.
In order to get Freeview channels and Analogue channels, you need to connect a aerial to the back of the TV.
There is a menu option for the TV to start straight to the AV input (your Sky HD box). It is Menu > Setup > Other Settings > Power on Preference. Select 'AV' for your TV to start on Sky HD.
Also even if you have your TV to start on TV, when you turn on your Sky HD box, it should automatically switch to the Sky box.

Kenwood dnn990hd wifi doesn't work

How this unit accesses the Internet is via a smart phone you provide that is in Portable Wi-Fi HotSpot Mode. After setting your phone up to serve as a HotSpot, do setup the Kenwood dnn990hd wifi's wifi as you would a smart phone's wireless connection. If you need more instructions on how to the above, please provide the make and model of your smartphone, as the navigation to the settings have changed from version to version in Android and other OS's are just plain different altogether!~

HDMI connection with Panasonic DMP-BD35K Blu-Ray Disc Player

Try hooking the Panasonic up straight to the tv without going through the receiver. If it displays a picture its obviously not the blu-ray player. May also be a problem with the HDMI cable itself. Hope this helps.
