SOURCE: Maytag Performa Washing Machine

Before you do anything else..UNPLUG it from the 240volt supply ! Read ALL of this before attempting the fix. After draining out the water, lay the machine down to expose the inner workings. You'll need to find the pressure switch which is connected by an thin rubber or plastic tube from the wash tub. Check that it is is properly connected.(YOu may have to cut off a little of each and to give you a an "as new" airtight sealed fitting. A little smear of quikgrip glue around the nozzle at each end will ensure a longlife airtight fit of the tubing.) BUT before you do the final glueing and fitting of the tube. Just have the tube at the pressure switch nozzle connected and BLOW into it. You should hear an audible click when blowing and relesing the air. Even if you hear this, it only confirms that the diaphragm in the pressure switch is ok. It does not tell you if the two way switch inside it of good integrity. By integrity I mean the condition of the switching CONTACTS, As they carry high current, they eventually burn and pit and can become of such HIGH resistance to the flow of current that there is none when the switch is in fact physically in the on position. Further advice from me can be had by accessing the PAYG "Let our Experts Solve YOur Problem" FixYa Link.

SOURCE: Frigidaire washing machine collects water behinf door seal

Frigidaire has several mfr defects with their new front loading machines. The detergent/bleach drawer retains water, the door often leaks, water does accumulate in the door seal and the spin has broken twice on us and the machin is only 15 months old! Repair is contracted out by Lowes to independant repair companies, who demand payment, even when Lowes says it is covered under warrantee. What a waste of a large amount of money! We will NEVER purchase Frigidaire or recommend their products to anyone.

Picture of the drain filter on the front of a LG washer

There is a video here. They are normally a plastic plug with a rubber seal. You turn the handle in the centre which makes the rubber seal expand to seal the plug.

Please always include full model details. The manuals are normally online.

I would consider having a service person come in and repair it, you have already spent a good portion of the cost on seals to no avail. There might be a simpler answer but without knowing make and model we are at a loss.

Ignore the lint, it wont cause a leak. The shiny wash drum gets wet, so it sits in a sealed outer drum that contains the water. The water can only get out of it at the front where their is a rubber seal around the door, or through broken bearings at the back. Is the water coming out at top front or top back? Front seal fix is easy, but changing rear bearings takes me 4 hours.

Hi,maybe the draw dispencer is damaged,I wouldnt think it is the drum seal, what I would do is tilt the washing machine so that the top of the machine is leaning against the wall so that the front of the machine is of the ground, then while you get underneath the front on the floor with a torch get someone to put water in the dispencer and see if you can see where the water is leaking from,I hope this was some help, all the best.

Loud rubber squeal sound with new clothes washer water seal.

its the wrong seal. do not lubricate it at all rubber sweals with any kind of petrolium product. many door boots look right for the model but will be thicker then needed. and will cause rubber to hit the basket.

Rubber seal has a rip in it

We had to replace our seal and it was about $250.  The tech told me that when you wash socks-put them into a garment bag.  He said it is hard on the seal.  Also he said that when washing comforters to wash it on the delicate cycle because regular washing is hard on the seal.  I wished I would have know this before hand :-(
