SOURCE: Samsung side by side refrigerator not working
I am somewhat of a fix-it guy and here is my take....I also have the same refridge with other problems, and have done alot of research and discussions with the local repair techs and Factory rep. Here we go: The Samsung models are very prone to problems arising from power fluctuation's that fry the motherboards. One problem may be that the defrost circuit fails and the unit freezes up causing a lack of cooling and loud banging of the compressor. To run a diagnostic of the unit, you need to press both power freeze buttons for 10 seconds beeps will sound and release, the dashes on the display showing if any circuits are bad.(self diagnostic) This is what the service guy will do then come in with the part and replace. With a bad board, the diagnostics reveals no problem and the service agent will just start replacing parts, at your expense! Also the part #'s will show discontinued but they just changed parts #'s.. Be careful, my dealer said all parts were no longer available....he was wrong! Motherboards are a bear, I believe my model has 3!Most techs are not familiar with Samsung and will not be able to correctly diagnose the problems, mine came out and said it! "We do not Know and the factory will not give us any idea what the problem is" We're sorry! That was 3 month ago, and now I have a beautiful yard fixture! a $1400.00 yard fixture!! hope this helps someone..
SOURCE: compressor makes loud noise when it shuts off
If you know that the compressor is making the noise, I really believe you need to prepair to replace the the air conditioner. If under warranty it would be wise to contact the dealer for options.
SOURCE: Loud noise
The compressor fan is making the noise and causing overheating as well. Easy fix. Call Danby with model # and they can figure out correct fan. Part will cost around $10 and is easy to replace. Plug and play with screws. Good luck
SOURCE: Loud screeching noise coming from the unit.
A screeching or squealing noise usually comes from the fan motor. There may be an oil port and you can buy a small telescoping oil bottle at a super hardware store or an a/c supply house. Before putting in he oil, remember to TURN OFF THE POWER TO THE UNIT and only use a light squeeze on the bottle - over oiling will cause a mess inside the motor. It may be a sealed motor and no oil ports. In either case, budget for a new motor as if it's to the squealing stage, the bearings are already damaged and it's a just matter of time before before the motor bearings fail. If possible, get oil on the bearings ASAP - and use the proper lightweight oil for made for this application.
SOURCE: Ice maker (Uline) just stopped working, not freezing, no noise.
U-line does make compressors as long as its not a r12 system. As far as the icemachine turn breaker off for a couple of min then try it. If same results then it could be a board.
