I moved the washer and found some type of lubricant on the floor. The belt is good but found the same lube inside the housing that covers the bottom of the motor

have you checked the carbon brushes in the motor 1 on either side of the motor with a wire going to each brush carbon should be at least 1in in length and can go down to about 8ml b4 they need changing m8
SOURCE: Whirlpool LHW0050PQ Front Loading Washer VERY NOISY during spin cycle
remove the top access panel 3 screws in top rear.
now look around and push on the drum from top
it has suspension shocks and springs like your car they should resist any movements.
look/wiggle the concrete balance blocks , no cracks or loose.
inside the tub are the arm solid /not loose.
run it with the top open what do you see/hear and where
look under the rubber flap in front did anything get under the tub
SOURCE: Replaced broken washer belt, but drum still won't spin.
you may have a bad bearing in a pulley, could be motor coupling. Take belt off and spin motor shaft and pulley both ways if it's free, then its more than likely not the motor. Now spin the drum with belt off and see if it does the same as with the belt on if it does it has to be a bad bearing or coupling to the drum. hope this helps
Testimonial: "Thanks for your input. I'll look into it. If the problem is a bearing, is it an easy fix or should I start saving for a new washer?"

this is a issue due to lack of a filter that was not installed in factory.... call dealership they should install the filter and unclog the drain free... do it soon before it fries your blower motor and resistor like it did mine :)
SOURCE: whirlpool cabrio washer keeps flashing code F50
The F50 error code indicates that the RPS (rotor position sensor) detects no motor rotation. Check to see if the basket spins freely. If not, you could have an item caught between the outer tub and the inner spin basket. A toy or other item underneath the washer could also prevent the basket from spinning and would result in this F50 code.
If the basket spins freely, you could have a wiring failure that would prevent the motor from spinning.
