I jave disassembled my Casio CDP 100, to check a couple of dead keys, how do I remove the key wothout breaking it..

You need first of all to remove the cover, access the keybed, remove from keyboard base and then you will be able to remove a key - it is impossible without following this procedure.

Is there a way to replace the settings key pads?

These pads can be replaced ( providing Casio still have spare parts ) There are a lot of screws to undo to get inside the keyboard, then remove any PCB above the pad, replace and reassemble.

I have a Casio CDP 200R. I recently purchased a FC4 foot pedal but it works in the reverse way. I tried switching the piano off and then plugging it in and it still does not work. Can you please let me...

You should try having the pedal connected when you turn unit on. Some pedals can be rewired to act opposite... However I believe this pedal should work with the Casio. You can open the pedal and see if you can move one wire so it works opposite. Also verify that the jack is set to the "SUS" setting per your user manual... around page E14

Casio Privia px 130 One of the keys (e4) sometimes playes at full velocity even when pressed lightly. It happenes vary regularly which means I can no longer rely on the key playing softly. It is...

One of the two contacts for that key is not working. This could be dirty or damaged contact. They use a conductive rubber pills that the key presses against circuit board traces. One contact makes before the other and this is how velocity is sensed. Unless you are adept at this repair, I would recommend you take it in for repair. Chances are any part cost is negligible... mostly labor to open and access the contacts for cleaning. Clean ONLY with 99% isoprophyl alcohol and Q TIps... VERY GENTLY.

Thanks for the information on cleaning the contacts. I had all of the screws out to day but could NOT get to the contacts. I do NOT want to break the plastic case so how do you get to the contacts?

The contacts are under the keys, about halfway from the front of the white keys to the back of the key., There are several different key types for Casio keyboards. USUALLY the keys are either in blocks or individual. Here is a manual for a Casio, and while it is NOT your model, your keyboard will be very close.

There is an exploded voew on page 16 of the key assembly.

My WK- 3700 Casio keyboard is malfunctioning.

One portion of the key scanning matrix has gone bad. First thing is to clean the contacts with 99% isoprophyl alcohol. These USUALLY consist of traces on a circuit board that conductive rubber "pills" under silicone rubber domes are pressed down. Each note usually has two contacts, one closes before the other. This creates "velocity" measurement for the key. IF ONE of the contacts for a key doesn't work, the velocity can detect that the note has actuated, but no release occurs.

This would be on the "STROBE" line for either the first or second contact for THE OCTAVE you have problem with. There are disconnect diodes that prevent sneak paths.

You could have one bad diode, a crack in the circuit board, or a bad connection to the keyswitch board.

SMF converter for wk-500, Does it exist?

No.

I have a Wk-8000 & a CDP-200R, the later is the same as wk-500 but with 88 weighted hammer keys.

Since wk-500 can play SMF (Midi 0 & 1) format directly from a SD card and there is enough polyphony to play anything, I don't find any real reason to convert SMF to any "Casio Format". Just get a 2GB SD card and put your SMF files in the MUSDAT folder for the SD CARD using your PC/MAC.
