I have an LG TV model42LN543N-28 is this model high definition

I can't find an LG 42LN543N-28 listed anywhere. The 42LN5400 has a full HD display (1080); this model sold in the UK was labeled the 42LN543V. Thus I suspect that your model also is a HD TV.

Any screen with 720 rows of horizontal pixels or more is usually called a high definition TV or monitor (depending on the inclusion of a TV tuner). The 42LN5400 display has a 1920 x 1080 maximum resolution.

I hope this helps.

My LG tv model number 42LN5400-UA no picture

It is a common problem for the LG 42/47 LN series LED TV, the problem is defective LED back lights strip (strips).

You have to open the display panel to find the bad one & replace it. The part number usually is printed on the strips, read 6916L-11XXA, you may purchase it from EBay.

Pc reads tv through hdmi but tv says no signal still what do i need to do?

The TV reads the PC via the HDMI out from the computer. You must make a direct connection from the PC to the HDMI input on the TV with a proper HDMI cable. Once that is established, you need to be certain what HDMI Channel is represented on the TV, HDMI #1, 2 or 3? Etc. Best you turn on the PC AFTER all connections are made and the TV is in full operation and the channel HDMI 1,2,or 3 etc. are on. Now turn on the PC and see if you get a connection. You may have a picture if you are streaming a video, and NO sound. If so, reset the Audio by clicking on the speaker icon at the lower right of your computer screen, and in the Volume Control Options select the output you wish to use.
