You should be able to find them at your local hardware or Menards store. I worked at a True Value store and we had them there.

Black & Decker 9700 electric stapler clicks but won't shoot staples?

Remove the magazine and staples. Look down at the very end and look for a damaged bent staple. You can also check that the hammer is firing.

What staples does a black and decker electric stapler 9700 take and where can I buy them?

Hi Stephen,
Of course the manual states to use their staples for best results.
However it does at least state it is designed for a wide variety.
Most hardware stores have a range of staples to choose from.
Home Depot, Harbor Freight, Lowes etc. Try a chisel point this may help penetrate the wood deep enough. All staples are not made the same. So again trial and error may be the quickest route. Fortunately you can purchase small boxes for your testing.
The manual for this stapler is here:
(Page 2 talks about the staples to use.)

Good luck and hope this helps!

How do you load staples into the Power Shot Model 5700M staple and nail gun? There is no manual in the package despite direction on the side of the gun to read it!

I have owned a Black & Decker Powershot before. Throw it away. They are **** . Stick with a Arrow or Craftsman. I didn't like the Black & Decker and gave it to a friend that was looking for a staple gun. He threw it away ! Worst excuse for a staple gun I've ever seen. Awkward to use and preforms on a scale of 1 to 10 , doesn't even hit 1 !

Got a black and decker electric stapler given to me but no manual so can't find way to load it. It is a cat. no. 9700 stapler

Look at the back of the staple gun just under the electric cord and you will see a 1/2 loop of spring steel sticking up from the chrome base. Push it down lightly and toward the front of the stapler - when it is all the way forward lift the loop it while in the forward position and while up - draw it back and the will come out of the staple gun.
