Do not adjust any knobs as instucted in the previous thread if you TV have a convergence problem. Doing so will only make things worse. The blog does however show you how to fix other common problems with these sets.
Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem
Here is a quick test....
Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.
Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.
You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.
If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.
Solution #1
You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

most of the time you need to change the stk392-110 chips an ome resistors let me know if you need more help
SOURCE: convergence point problem on a Philips TV
The 55pp9352 model number uses 2 of the STK-392-120 convergence chips--if it will not adjust in some direction--both chips and any of the 6.8 ohm resistors around them that are bad need to be replaced.
The reason this happens is the chips are about 2 1/2 inches wide X 1 1/2 inches tall with a metal back--they are attached to separate metal heat sinks and a white grease is applied to each to transfer heat quickly---after several years the heat sink grease dries out and one of the chips cannot stay cool enough and fails.
Pretty common problem in ALL rear projection sets--if model is 55pp, it is 55 inch set.
You can buy the chips on Ebay for less than 12 dollars---the resistors if needed are cheap parts.
It depends if you are able to do the repair yourself or need to have someone do it for you--most shops get at least 300 for this kind of repair--considering the parts cost less than 20 dollars if you can do it yourself you can save a lot of money.
Any good tech can do this repair in your home in about 1 hour--I know as I have done hundreds of them.
If you need help or advice let me know--I am here to help people.
