SOURCE: PROBLEMS WITH FR ERROR MESSAGE APPEARING

Mewood What part did you call "thermostat"? If you?re talking about the device which operates the oven temperature, your oven does not have such thermostats. It has two oven temperature sensors (one in each oven) and a control board (ERC). An error code "F4" will be displayed along with a beeping sound if the ERC determines an open oven temperature sensor circuit. It can be the sensor itself or the wires that connect the sensor to the ERC. The F4 message will not be displayed in the time of day mode. To get access to an oven sensor and wires, the oven has to be removed from the cabinet. Then you have to remove the rear cover. Then unplug the oven sensor and check the resistance across the oven sensor. It?s supposed to be about 1100 ohms at room temperature. If the resistance is incorrect, the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. If not, check all the wires from the oven sensor to the ERC. If it is not the sensor and wires, you have to replace the ERC, but most likely the problem is with the wires and/or connections. Part number for ERC is 62965, part number for oven sensor is 62593. Gendos....post back.

SOURCE: KitchenAid KERA807PSS01 oven won't shut off until breaker thrown

assuming its a stainless stell oven? if so heres the par tyou need its a membrane switch( your cancel button ceased to operate corrrect???not a bad part to install you need to remove a few screws from under control panel itself( perhaps a few on the sides, the front control will lift off and this part is installed from behind the control panel (SHUT THE BREAKER(S))

part number 9756595ES

in the mean time instead of shuttin off the breaker toreset you can simply( requires reading manual ) set your oven to time bake. it will shut off automatically after predetermined time has been obtained.

SOURCE: Getting error code F10 on Kenmore model 47889603 wall oven

Leaving the breaker off for the time I was at work (about 9 hours) seems to have cleared the problem. May have just been an abberation and not an actual problem with the appliance. Since the first step with most electronics that develop a fault of some type is to power down for a while then power back up to reset the electronics, I decided to see if that would do it and it did. Thanks for having a site to go to for assistance, though!!!! -Mike-

My Frigidaire oven shut off due to an f10 error which should I replace first since I have no tools to measure.ohms... sensor or EOC?

Good Morning mark, thank you for your post!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire range is displaying an error code of "F10". An "F10" error code normally stands for a runaway temperature (overheating). This could be an issue with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control). I would recommend performing a reset on your oven and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for ten minutes. If you continue to experience an issue with the "F10" error code I would recommend having a professional technician out to your home for proper diagnosis and replacement of any electrical components. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. Hopefully this information has been helpful. -Matt

How do get rid of F10 which is on the window of my Kenmore stove

The F10 error means that the high temperature sensor is reporting a runaway temperature and shut down to avoid a potential fire. Try unplugging the stove or tripping the circuit breaker to reset the code.

If the error recurs, unplug the stove (or turn off the circuit breaker) again. Look at the broiler and bake elements with a flashlight. If it has any damage (breaks, char, melting), you will need to replace the element. Check where the elements connect to the oven and replace them if there is any charring on the back wall.

If the elements are undamaged, you need to check the wiring to identify if the problem is at the elements, the high temperature sensor, wiring or the control board. You will need to access the wiring from the back of the stove. Disconnect the wires to the heating elements. Then disconnect the wiring connections at the high temperature sensor and the control board. Without a model number, I can't be completely sure of the resistance that should be seen at various points. Please post a comment with the model number of the stove and I'll try to confirm the expected and faulty resistance values. Most likely, the resistance should be under 50 ohms but above zero between the left and right contacts of the elements and the violet wires in the wiring harness at the control board. The high temperature sensor should probably have a resistance between 1,000 and 1,200 ohms. If the resistance is high, you'll need to replace the appropriate parts. (Note: if the wiring at the control board gives a reading similar to the resistance of the high temperature sensor, the control board is the likely suspect.)

I hope this helps. If your stove is under warranty, contact Sears/Kenmore to fix the issue. If you aren't comfortable testing the wiring, contact Kenmore for a service call.

Whirlpool built in electric oven

The upper element is for broiling and should not come on until you tell it broil. If it is coming on as soon as you turn on the breaker then it sounds like the printed circuit control board is bad. There is a relay on the board that engages when you program in the broiler. The relay can be hard to find and may not be removable. My broiler would come on when I programmed in the bake mode, go into runaway heat, put up a F10 code, and shut off. I could not clear it until I programmed in the clean mode for 2 hours. Now it works great.

How do I reset my oven

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand you are receiving an F10 code on your Frigidaire oven and want to know if there is a reset button. I also see that a fire started in a pot in your oven. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power, set the clock, and start any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

F10 code after frigidaire wall oven on for 15 minutes

Good Morning Dave, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

If you are getting error code F10, it typically means that your range is experiencing an issue with the runaway temperature (overheating). One of the best ways to determine if this is a false error code is to reset the power to your range by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off for about ten minutes. If the error code persists, I would be advisable to reach out to a professional to proceed further. Most likely the RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (electronic oven control) will need replacing. Hope this helps!

Oven is flashing f10 and burning the top of food being cooked and then shuts itself off

Hello - Typically error code F10 indicates a variety of issues. The range could possibly have a runaway temp (higher than normal temps), shorted keypad, faulty EOC (Electronic Oven Control) or, display wire harness missing/not connected. Usually, this code means to replace the EOC. You may be able to reset the range by disconnecting the power to the unit for up ten minutes. Usually this will clear most false error codes. You can disconnect power by either unplugging the unit or flipping the circuit breaker off and back on. If resetting the unit proves to be ineffective, I would recommend contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

Kenmore Elite slide in range F30 error

I had the same F30 error problem but fixed it. On my professional series Frigidaire, there are 2 resettable red button locations. I discovered that only one is in the rear of the oven. After going to the breaker box and shutting off the power, pull out the stove enough to work, unscrew the rear screws (I didn't unscrew all of them, just enough to work back there). The small red button is on a small black round piece with two purple wires feeding to it. That was not my problem. Mine was the other red button behind the control panel. Pull off all 4 knobs, unscrew by hand the large black rings that are underneath the knobs, pull out the whole panel. Look back and right (below where the right knobs were located) to find the 2nd red small button. Push to reset. Check this one first since it is easier to do.
