Remove sim card

Refer to these additional 4G SIM card do's and don'ts.
Ensure the device is powered off.
From the USB port (located on the bottom edge) gently lift and remove the battery cover.
From the notch in lower edge of the battery compartment, lift and remove the battery.
If necessary, remove the SD card.
Remove the SIM card.

This is almost 10 years old model. I would suggest to replace it with some new mobile phone as battery probably will also not last longing.
SIM socked should be located under battery so you need to remove battery cover and remove battery.

Remove the battery before removing the sim card

The LG Optimus Big LG-LU6800 is a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) unit. A network (usually a Korean network) connects directly to the unit using its unique code. It doesn`t have a sim card slot. If you want to use it, you need to contact a network provider and register your LG LU6800 for it to get signals in your area, either by prepaid or postpaid service. The device can still be used but without the network call and messaging feature since you will not be getting signals from a network unless you register it. There is a rumorred Mini-sim card slot on a model of the unit. Users use a micro-sim card instead for those unit since there is an issue fitter the prior sim card size. If you are unable to find the sim card slot (visible when you remove the battery) then you most probably have the CDMA version.

Step 1Remove the SIM card from your Motorola phone. The SIM card is a small chip that is located under the battery in your cell phone. After you've removed the SIM card from your Motorola phone, remove the SIM card from your LG phone.
Step 2Insert the SIM card from your LG phone into your Motorola phone. Turn on the Motorola phone.
Step 3Press the "Menu" key and select the "Address Book" option.
Step 4Select "Options" by pressing the right soft key. The "Select Multiple to" option will appear on the screen. Choose the "Select Multiple To" option and then select "Copy to SIM to Phone."
Step 5Remove the SIM card that you placed in your Motorola phone and insert it in your LG phone. After inserting the SIM card, turn on your LG phone.
Step 6Click the "Menu" key on your LG phone and select the "Address Book" option.
Step 7Select "Options" and choose the "SIM Management" option.
Step 8Select the "Copy from SIM" option and choose "Select All."
Step 9Select the "Copy" option. Your contacts will be transferred from your SIM card to your LG phone.

Insert sim error happen if the phone is not acknowledging the existence of sim card inserted in the phone.

1. Check if the sim is properly inserted.
2. Turn off mobile phone
3. Remove battery
4. Remove memory card
5. Remove sim card
6. Check the copper pins of the sim if there are dirts stucked on it
7. Ure clean cloth to wipe sim gently
8. Wait for at least two minutes
9. Gently and properly insert the memory and sim card
10. Insert the battery
11. Turn on mobile phone
13. Check if you will still recieve insert sim error
14. If you still recieved the same error you need to call your service provider and check the status and availability of your sim card.

Power off your cell phone.

Remove the back battery plate. Depending on the make and model of the cell phone, you will either have to slide the panel off by applying pressure with your thumb or by sliding a small latch and then removing the plate.

Take out the battery.

Look for the SIM card door. It will be shiny, silver and will be clearly marked. You'll also be able to see your SIM card.

Open your SIM card door by sliding it open (follow the arrow directions on the door) and sliding out your SIM card.

Open the back cover of the phone, remove the battery,slip the sim card into the slot designed for the sim card. Later, install the battery,put back cover. Turn power on. That's it.
