SOURCE: My freezer's defrost systems runs constantly

i dont think so i would look at the compressor kicking out on thermal overload or a faulty thermostat thermostats have two settings cut in cut out your cut in could be bad and not turning the compressor on till the temp reaches melting temps now if your hearing a click buzz then you need to look at the compressor and make sure the compressor fan is running but its not a defrost promblem

SOURCE: freezer working fine but fridge isn't

Either the damper that the air flows up through is closed or the return air flow vents are blocked with clear ice.

Do you feel the air come out all the way at the top of the duct assembly when the freezer door is opened (but it then stops when the door is closed)?

If so, then it sounds like your return air flow vents are clogged. These are located to the left and right of the duct assembly in the rear/bottom of the refrigerator section. Sometimes you may have to slowly pour hot water into these vents to get the clear ice to thaw. The water should go down into the freezer section behind the evaporator and then out the drain in the back.

If you do not get the air to flow out the top of the duct assembly then the damper is staying shut. This could be either a bad damper in the duct assembly or the main board my not be sending voltage to the damper. Hope this helps.

Kelvinator fridge not cooling

Try defrosting the fridge. Check the cold plate at the back of the food compartment once the fridge has been defrosted and turned back on again. The cold plate in the freezer (around the walls) will be cold to touch as will the cold plate at the back of the fridge,

first look for an air vent in the bottom of the fridge(a small grill on the inside wall) & make sure nothing is blocking it, like bread eg: if there isn't then unplug your fridge & let it defrost, check the drain outlet in the back of the freezer, sometimes a small item like a frozen pea gets into the drain & the water freezes around it causing the air not to return to the freezer from the fridge, to push air into the fridge you must be able to get air out or it presurises,

No. Your defrost cycle is not working. Depending on the age of your fridge, you could have a defrost timer or an integrated defrost timer on the control board. You also have an electric defrost heat that wraps your freezer coil that defrosts your coil. You didn't leave any info on your unit so I cant get more specific, but your issue is your defrost cycle and not your compressor

Hi

Check the back wall or floor of the freezer section for frost. Check the freezer or evaporator fan to see if it is running. Check the condenser coils under the unit for blockage from dust. Check the condenser fan to see if it is running.
If you have frost in the freezer there is a problem with the defrost system and the freezer will start to warm eventually as well as the fresh food section. If that is the problem you can check the defrost terminator, defrost heater/s, and the defrost timer or adaptive defrost control If used on your unit or the main control board if so equipped. These things usually require dismantling the freezer and other areas of the refrigerator to be checked.
You could defrost the freezer by disconnecting the power to the refrigerator and letting it sit for at least 24 hours with the doors open to allow the frost to melt completely but it will build up again in 1-2 weeks and start the warming up again.

How do you defrost the kelvinator cyclic 300 fridge?

hi,
a manual defrost? unplug and get a 9by11 cake pan and a bunch of towels and a hairdryer. put the hairdryer on LOW only and get it positioned in the freezer (door) compartment so its pointing towards the back. cake pan in the bottom towels below. and on the floor. leave the door open about 3 or 4 inches but NOT shut so you have some air circulation. and check it frequently. make sure the hair dryer isnt pointed at the plastics at all. takes a day. pull it from the wall, remove the rear access cover behind the fridge and blow it out with a vac or air compressor too. theres an access panel inside the freezer and if your handy, your ice blockage causing that problem lives behind there in the freezer. use caution if your going to attempt taking that plate off inside. use nothing sharp.

Our frigide is defrosting water into the bottom the fridide the lays in the cavity under the crisper and after a while(8 or 12 DAYS)RUNS OUT ON THE FLOOR

you have a clogged defrost drain. when y our unit goes into defrost, the water that is supposed to go down a tube from your freezer down to the bottom outside of the unit, into a pan to evaporate, instead is going into your fridge etc. This drain needs to be cleared. I would not recommend doing it yourself, you may cause further more expensive damage.

if you only removed the ice you can see without removing the back panel then you need more defrost time yes. but the frost will come back, something in the defrost system has failed. so the answer is yes to both questions off for longer and something more serious too.
