yes the rubber rollers inside your unit have become hard,,and they are slipping, and the unit detects this,, u can purchase a product called re-grip [ for rubber products and it treats the rubber in such a way to make it soft and pliable again ] the product is sold by mcm electronics and can be found online,,, treat the surfaces of the rubber rollers in your unit and it should preform to original specs....any further help please email me at [email protected] hope this helps you

I order parts from several companies for Bostitch nailers. First however make sure of the model number of the gun. Bostitch nailers had the model stamped onto the lower part of the body just barely visable when new. They had a framer with the model designation N80S. Max has a model # sn80 which looks just like the bostitch but their colors are red and silver instead of yellow. The best place for parts for outdated guns is: http://www.foxborotool.com/parts.htm. Email them with your needs and they will inform you of prices/shipping. Driver is easy to install. Other places to order bostitch is WWW.toolpartsdirect.com and of course www.bostitch.com.
