I purchased a Kenwood KSBSW17 American style fridge freezer only 14 months ago and for the last three days the fan is making an unbearably loud noise. How can we fix this? Thanks
We defrosted the fridge freezer for 24 hours but the noise has been worse since and the fridge section does not feel as cool as it did before however the freezer section seems okay.

The problem is: There is Ice accumulating around the Vent (where the cold air comes in from), and is therefor over working and making noise (that is the reason why the electrician thought it was working too hard, so he changed the capacitor but couldn't pinpoint the problem).
This occurs because the freezer is left open or is opened every other second. Check to see if you can see the ice and remove it, if not, ask your local electrician - they usually know these stuff.
Sorry to hear about your problem. Sounds like you have a defrost issue. Hence your unit is not defrosting. All of this apply's if your freezer side has ice on it. If not. you have other issues Here is a list of some things that can go wrong. 1. Defective heat coil 2. Defective defrost timer 3. Defective defrost sensor You should call a service company to resolve your issue.

If the fan in the freezer is working. You can hear this fan running when you open the freezer. Then I think the noise you hear is the fan hitting an ice build up.
Spray a good quantity of WD-40 on the spindle of the fan motor where it enters the motor itself. This should get the fan working smoothly with no noise. This will probably solve the other problems, as the fan prevents various components from overheating and shutting down.
