Call professional. There are parts inside a microwave that can cause serious injury or worse if you don’t know what you are doing.

SOURCE: refrigerator compartment not cooling

If you are sure the fan in the freezer is running and you don't feel any air flow out of the top middle vent inside the fridge section, then the damper motor must be bad. The damper motor is behind that vent cover inside the fridge section.

I don't know where you got the information that the high voltage capacitor takes 24 hours to discharge. The capacitor will actually discharge after a few minutes. If in doubt as to whether or not a capacitor is still charged, however, you should short the capacitor to discharge it. You do this by fashioning yourself a grounding probe:

1. Take a screwdriver and a set of alligator clips with a wire.

2. Connect an alligator clip to either end of the wire.

3. Connect one clip to the screwdriver and the other end to equipment ground.

4. Short the screwdriver across the capacitor terminals.

If the capactor casing is grounded (mounted to the equipment chassis) you only need to take a screwdriver and touch each across each terminal to the capacitor case.

CAUTION: Make sure the unit is UNPLUGGED prior to servicing any components inside the HV network. The HV network consists of the HV Capacitor, Magnetron, HV Diode and HV Transformer.

If you still have questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Hi newer microwave ovens have a built in resistor to bleed the power from the capacitor once it is unplugged. Saying this it is always a good safety practice to discharge it.

The factory approved method is to purchase a 2 Watt, 20,000 ohm resistor and touch it across the terminals on the microwave capacitor to discharge, doing this with a tool like pliers so you are not touching the metal tips of the resistor.

Most technicians will use pliers that have insulated handles and touch the tips to the capacitor. I am not condoning that, just letting you know.

Kitchen aid microwave blow 20 amp fuse on start.

Hello James
Having a 20 amps fuse is a bit high in todays standard as 15 amps fuses are recommended these days - they do not want too much current to go through the house wires.
Better to buy a new microwave as this microwave could burn down your house.

I have a whirlpool over the range microwave with an F6 error. Model # MH7140XFB-1 Serial # XCL1222267 I can't shut the door or it just continues to hum. How can I fix this?

Open the oven door. b) Unplug the microwave oven for 2-seconds and plug it back in. ... The sears manual refers to F6 error as a F6 -Microwave Relay Failure, which would explain why the motor is "humming" The relay is part of the PCB and may require you to get a new PCB
The F6 error indicates a relay on the control has failed.
You can try to unplug the microwave for a few minutes and then try it again. If the error repeats then the control will have to be replaced.
Microwaves are not good do-it-yourself projects and I recommend a technician check and repair this problem.
Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service. Internal capacitors can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is unplugged. A microwave radiation leakage test must be performed on the unit following any repair.
I recommend calling a service technician to repair this type of problem.

What can cause a Whirlpool serial number try 2047151 microwave to not heat

Hi Nikki.
Sounds like the High Voltage Capacitor has failed. If the Microwave is still under warranty have it repaired or replaced. If it's not under warranty I would suggest to just buy a new one. Just in case you are thinking of opening it up and trying to repair it yourself, ""DON'T"". The Microwave holds """VERY HIGH VOLTAGES""" upwards towards 3000 to 5000 Volts DC, that can potentially KILL you, even if it has been unplugged for days.
Be smart. Hope this helps.

I have a LG microwave, model MG 583MC. It does not seem to heat up, but turntable spins, trying to faultfind, how do I discharge the cap? Or do I disconnect the leads to the cap, and then discharge?

You unplug it fro 10 minutes to drain down the circuit, but if it doesn't heat the chances are that the Magnetron is defective, in that case a new oven is a good choice.

Error message f3h on the sensor menu and won't heat on any other setting. Not certain of the model # aside from what's given below.

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.
Your error code means your humidity sensor is defective.

1. Hold the CANCEL pad down while opening the door.
2. Unplug the power supply cord from the wall outlet for two seconds and plug it back in.
3. Release the CANCEL pad then close the door.
4. By pressing each of the pads on the control panel, the numeral 8 will appear in the display to indicate that the circuits are complete and all relays are working.
5. The pads that control the oven and cooktop lights, in addition to the hood fan, will also turn these components on and off for a visual indication that the circuits are operating properly.

Sorry to read about your problem.
It seems your have a general failure in the power control or switch failure on the unit. if your unit has power, and things lite. it is more likely you have a control/switch problem,
